A message for Glock (Editorial suggesting glock should stop selling to civilians)
NY Post ^

Why Loughner -- who'd been rejected by the military for his past drug use and arrested on drug charges -- was free to buy a 30-round magazine is a mystery.
Almost as much a mystery, frankly, as why Glock even markets them: They have no discernible civilian efficacy -- and damned little military utility.
Yet sales of the magazines reportedly are way up around the country in the wake of the Tucson massacre.
Here's an opportunity for the NYPD -- and every big-city police department in the nation -- to help turn this around by sending Glock a simple message: Halt all sales of the magazines to civilians -- or we'll stop using your weapon for our own officers.

I doubt seriously the magazine was made by Glock! Even their normal capacity mags are expensive. If they even make a 30, the cost would probably be out of sight.

Hey Compost: I have two such mags from the days when they were legal in Kommiefohnia, and so far they haven’t done any harm to anyone or anything.

Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA - ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the State.

Is it any wonder there’s been a massive “run” on Glock pistols in recent days?

Yeah and as an astute businessman, Mr. (Anton?) Glock will certainly shut off that part of his market. Besides, the Glock 19 has a 15 round mag anyway. Not like somebody could do some harm with that, right?

shall not be infringed... it covers his right to own...
in a free society, unfortunately this is the cost... until our criminal justice system starts offing these shooters instead of coddling them and making them celebrity killers... it will continue.

Were they made by Glock or an after-market? I’ve got a couple hi-capacity mags for My Ruger KP97, they weren’t made by Ruger.

I hought the Post was a conservative paper that would research something before they put their foot in their mouth.
I don’t have a 30 round mag, but I defend it on the grounds that it is a good home defense item.
3:00AM, your eyes are out of focus because you are aroused from a deep sleep...
How many times will you miss?
Cops wide awake in the middle of their shift miss 85% of the time.
If you hit only 15%, that is only 4.5 hits. If two guys break in.....
Maybe 60 rounds would be better.
A 30 round mag is a good thing to have under the bed.
To: lowbridge
They have no discernible civilian efficacy -- and damned little military utility. Um...so neither a civilian shooter or a military officer would prefer to fire more bullets between reloads? On what facts does he base that conclusion?
I doubt I'll ever have to fire any of my weapons in a combat situation, but if I could get them belt fed I'd do it. Better to finish a fight with lots of ammo unfired than get caught short or get popped during a reload.

Genuine Glock, IIRC for a G30? that is not marketed in the US.
