Controversial, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh is stepping up his assault against the Democratic Party in the wake of the mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz., claiming the Democrats fully "support" the alleged shooter.
On his radio show Tuesday, Limbaugh said, "What Mr. Loughner knows is that he has the full support of a major political party in this country. He's sitting there in jail. He knows what's going on, he knows that... the Democrat party is attempting to find anybody but him to blame. He knows if he plays his cards right, he's just a victim."

In spite of his often-controversial statements, Limbaugh remains an influential voice within the conservative movement. Commentator Andrew Sullivan argues that Limbaugh is a mainstream opinion-maker who is "untouchable; his tone will not change."
Limbaugh and other conservatives, like Sarah Palin, are pushing back against criticism pinning Saturday's events on their harsh rhetoric.

Sarah's in trouble. Her new career as a reality TV star collapsed within hours of the murders in Arizona. "Re-load", get them in your "sites". Not an acceptable script for mainstream America. Now, she's coming back into the Republican fold. Peddle fear and hatred. Distort, distract and divide. Incite political violence and then accuse anyone who objects using the incident to take away 1st and 2nd amendment rights.

He needs to be tested for drugs again!!!! Whether you like Rush or not is not the point. The point is he's right--this killer can and will use the Democrat's finger-pointing and their hate-speak (blaming Palin, Limbaugh, Republicans et.al)as a defense. The killers defense team can now point to the Sheriff, the dems and liberal media's comments about his sanity and actions to justify his actions, to gain sympathy, and use it as an obvious ready-made defense. They can say he was driven to it and this proves it. So, instead of waiting until the facts were in and talking about those facts, these so-called professionals gave the killer some mighty good defense points.

I posted earlier that this nut might be trying to construct an explanation that will work to his advantage, which would be to say that Rush and Sara Palin made him do it. Regardless that his past conduct may dispel that contention, he knows the MSM will buy into it without reservation.

Speaking of Will Rogers. It has been my belief for many years that is who Rush Limbaugh is, a contemporary Will Rogers. Rogers said many things that had the hard sting of the truth. That is what good political commentators do. Few do it with style, grace and brilliance. In that regard Rogers and Limbaugh are in a league of their own.

This article and the comments posted just show how this whole smear backfired.
The Rats are all now in depressed mode realizing that the dream of disabling the new GOP congress is not happening and ruining Palin, Rush and Beck failed. They are a small minority of American thought and this rejection of their conspiracy theory reinforced it.
