Sarah Palin, who had been silent for days, on Wednesday issued a forceful denunciation of her critics in a video statement that accused pundits and journalists of blood libel in their rush to blame heated political rhetoric for the shootings in Arizona.
Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own, she said in a video posted to her Facebook page. Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence that they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.
Ms. Palins use last year of a map with crosshairs hovering over a number of swing districts, including that of Gabrielle Giffords, had increasingly become the symbol of that overheated rhetoric. In and interview with The Caucus on Monday, potential 2012 rival Tim Pawlenty, the former Republican governor of Minnesota, said he would not have produced such a map.
But in the video, Ms. Palin rejected criticism of the map, casting it as a broader indictment of the basic political rights of free speech exercised by people of all political persuasions.
She said that acts like the shootings in Arizona begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively with all the citizens of a state.
Not with those who listen to talk radio, she added. Not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle. Not with law abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their first amendment rights at campaign rallies. Not with those who proudly voted in the last election.

Proven track record? Maybe you missed the news flash on July 3rd, 2009, when she announced she was QUITTING as Alaska's governor effective 7/31/09, after serving LESS THAN one term. Then again, I note that stating facts about Palin on this board is very unpopular, to say the least.
Word has it, per the book "Game Change," that Palin's nomination was Cindy McCain's idea.
DUH. No one on this thread or this board has said that Palin caused the Crazy Guy to shoot people last Thursday. The topic of this thread was her "blood libel" comment, on which opinions here differ. Try to stay on topic.
In addition --- and please read this carefully --- some of us who think her use of the term was inadvisable ALSO criticized the Pima County sheriff's comments the day of the shooting.
Hope that's not too much nuance for you.
What a baby you are. Waaaaaahhhhhhh......
Moreover, he (Syncro) failed to ping you to a post in which he mentioned you. Tsk, tsk.
Correction to my #704:.... last Saturday.....not “last Thursday.”
Sarah Palin served as governor for two and a half years before she resigned. Before that she server two terms as a mayor, so she does have a track record. I disagreed with her decision to quit, but she offered a convincing rationale for doing so.
You also have to subtract the amount of time she spent campaigning for the office of VPOTUS.
And Wasilla? What’s the population there again?
Anyway his short post to me is merely shameless projection on his part.
You two have a nice time paling around together La E.
Yeah, and you have a nice time palling around with a FReeper who disappeared from this forum for 3 years, anti-FReeped during that time, reappeared and laughably calls steady FReepers like myself a "troll." Following protocol, I will ping her.
I didn’t disappear and I’ve never been an AF in my life, you wicked, idiot bitch. FOAD = flitter away and dance and don’t ever ping me again to your trash talk. Why you’re still here is beyond me.
So is experience the only thing that counts when selecting a candidate? Should we nominate a RINO or a baby-killing socialist solely because he has more experience?
In any case, Sarah Palin has more executive experience than John McCain had. And Wasilla isn't exactly a trailer park.
It’s more difficult to fight a half truth than it is to fight an outright lie.
I did in fact join a forum (Clown Posse) that engaged in anti-FReeping. I did that because a friend of mine who had been banned from FR (not HLL) hung out there.
I myself was never an anti-FReeper. I - as did several others - eventually left because I found much of what went on there to be disgusting.
You were mostly absent from FR during your tenure at Wide Awakes - where you were an administrator.
When you give him good analysis, he then runs away and calls you names.

You are telling lies...is that all you have left?
Thanks but don’t concern yourself with the lies from the palinites...I don’t. It’s sort of pitiful to tell the truth.
Nice invective.....LOL. Why don't you answer my first posts to you on this thread then?
Oh, and answer this while you’re at it (I don’t expect you can without calling her a liar or some pathetic names): http://althouse.blogspot.com/2011/01/effort-to-drag-down-sarah-palin-for.html
