England's 'Combat Barbie' is going back to war to fight in Afghanistan (Katrina Hodge)

A former Miss England has traded in her tiara and sash for a rifle and fatigues as she prepares for her combat duty deployment to war-torn Afghanistan.

Corporal Katrina Hodge -- dubbed "Combat Barbie" -- joined the British armed forces when she was just 17 and has been decorated for her bravery in the past when British soldiers were based in Basra, Iraq.

"I’m not going to lie, it was hard to come back," Hodge told London's Daily Mail newspaper. "It’s definitely a change of lifestyle from having your hair and make-up done every day to being in your combats and having your hair scraped back."

Interesting. She appears to be a red head, but has darker hair in the shot with the crown and sash. I saw a documentary once on the English prejudice against redheads (they call gingers).

I am always surprised at who wins these “Miss” competitions. Frankly, I have seen much better walking around NYC or LA.

My guess is her hair is really brown/brunette and she added some red. She is not the real fair skinned Irish/Scots to have reddish hair. A lot of women add that reddish tint to brown hair ceause they usually look pretty hot.
