Wife of White House Aide Found Dead in Burning Car
Politics Daily ^ | January 10, 2011 | Christopher Weber

Ashley Turton, wife of the Obama administration's House of Representatives liaison, Dan Turton, was found dead in a burning car Monday morning, Roll Call and other news outlets are reporting.

Fire officials said it appeared the car crashed as it was pulling in or out of the garage behind a rowhouse in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C., at about 5 a.m. Neighbors dialed 911 after spotting the fire.

The body was discovered after fire crews doused the blaze. The fire also charred part of the garage. Nobody in the house was injured, fire officials said.

Ashley Turton worked as a lobbyist for the utility giant Progress Energy, according to Politico. She was a former staffer for U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn.

Metropolitan Police Lt. Nicholas Breul told Roll Call a joint investigation is underway. Homicide detectives were called to the scene.

"This could be just a tragic freak accident," Breul said, adding there was no indication that there was a crime committed.

The White House had no immediate comment on the incident.

The Tea Party did it.

The TEA Party Movement will erase your hard drive. Not the data, but your actual hard drive! Not only that, but it will scramble any disks that are even close to your computer. It will recalibrate your refrigerator's coolness setting so all your ice cream goes melty. It will demagnetize the strips on all your credit cards, screw up the tracking on your television and use subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you try to play.

It will give your ex-girlfriend your new phone number. It will mix Kool-aid into your fishtank. It will drink all your beer and leave its socks out on the coffee table when there's company coming over. It will put a dead kitten in the back pocket of your good suit pants and hide your car keys when you are late for work.

The TEA Party Movement will make you fall in love with a penguin. It will give you nightmares about circus midgets. It will pour sugar in your gas tank and shave off both your eyebrows while dating your girlfriend behind your back and billing the dinner and hotel room to your Discover card.

It will seduce your grandmother. It does not matter if she is dead, such is the power of The TEA Party Movement, it reaches out beyond the grave to sully those things we hold most dear.

It moves your car randomly around parking lots so you can't find it. It will kick your dog. It will leave libidinous messages on your boss's voice mail in your voice! It is insidious and subtle. It is dangerous and terrifying to behold. It is also a rather interesting shade of mauve.

The TEA Party Movement will give you Dutch Elm disease. It will leave the toilet seat up. It will make a batch of Methanphedime in your bathtub and then leave bacon cooking on the stove while it goes out to chase gradeschoolers with your new snowblower.

Fishy... How does one go fast enough to have a fiery crash when entering or exiting a driveway?

I fully agree.

In fiction there are no coincidences. Fiction and politics have a lot in common, funny enough.

Oh I know, but certainly not common. It snowed here once, I think, a long time ago but not within my memory.

No info on what kind of car, or if she lived in one of the rowhouses. Jounalists don’t believe in giving info anymore.

4th Quarter 2010: Mid-Term elections give Republicans a historic number of new seats in the US House of Representatives, handing a significant and stinging loss to Obama, Pelosi, and the Democrats.

1st Quarter 2011: The wife of Obama’s handpicked liaison to the US House of Representatives is found dead in a burning car near her home. Police say the incident “could be a freak accident” and proceed to call in homicide detectives.

Move on folks, nothing to see here at all.

Going that slow, I doubt the fuel tank was ruptured. At that, heat is required for ignition.

Absolutely a murder.

If starting the car triggered an igniter in the gas tank, yes.

With the media frenzy on the Arizona shooting, I wonder how much attention this case will receive. Also, Howard K. Stern must be smiling. Now there will be few questions raised why the Judge all but rewarded him.

Interesting list, shades of the Clinton Mafia.

Which isn't much different from the Chicago Daley Crime/Mob/Political Machine.

Pre-dawn hours seems to indicate coming home late from possible drinking and pulled into the garage too fast due to alcohol impairment. Just a speculation on my part.

If it is a hit, possibly reasons will come out (and be suppressed.)

Vince Foster never left the White House (tapes disappeared that nite) yet he walked into Fort Marcey Park with out getting the bottoms of his shoes dirty.

I’m originally from Texas but I was in New Orleans on New Years Day for the Sugar Bowl in 1964 when it snowed (one inch or so, but it stuck). The newspapers were gobsmacked, as the Brits say. Evidently, it had last snowed in New Orleans sometime in the 18880s.
