Ashley Turton, wife of the Obama administration's House of Representatives liaison, Dan Turton, was found dead in a burning car Monday morning, Roll Call and other news outlets are reporting.
Fire officials said it appeared the car crashed as it was pulling in or out of the garage behind a rowhouse in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C., at about 5 a.m. Neighbors dialed 911 after spotting the fire.
The body was discovered after fire crews doused the blaze. The fire also charred part of the garage. Nobody in the house was injured, fire officials said.
Ashley Turton worked as a lobbyist for the utility giant Progress Energy, according to Politico. She was a former staffer for U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn.
Metropolitan Police Lt. Nicholas Breul told Roll Call a joint investigation is underway. Homicide detectives were called to the scene.
"This could be just a tragic freak accident," Breul said, adding there was no indication that there was a crime committed.
The White House had no immediate comment on the incident.
Sounds like a plot on NCIS or Bones.
This is so bizarre. A car could be sabotaged to leak gas and run out of control, but even yet one would expect a distress call to have been made from the car (if she carried a cell phone, unless it too was sabotaged).

There are few people around here that believe that there is a connection between the Clintons and Obama. Look at how many ex-Clinton admin/era people are now in Obama’s admin. Now we have your list which, if the names were changed, would read like Clinton’s list. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I have said so in the past - The Clinton’s are working with Obama and have always been.

Notice the Democrat way of making money in Washington - politician or political appointee doesn’t take lobbying money, but relatives do. Kind of like Tom Daschle’s wife and Harry Reid’s kids.

Progress Energy is a regional power company. On the Board of Directors at Progress sits Mel Martinez, former RINO Senator from Florida. Not drawing any connections, it's just background. A lot of DC linkage it seems. Also the husband has been a DC insider for many many years.
