A democratic operative admitted this to The Politico.

Judge Roll was threatened after he allowed a lawsuit by illegals to go forward against the family of the rancher who was murdered on his own land by illegals.
He and his family were given security protection for a while. I don’t know when that stopped.

From this article it says they had 24-hour protection for Judge Roll for about a month in 2009 - including when he went to Mass (further illustrating how well-known his routine for Mass was).
It refers to the New York Times possibly having more information about the security for Judge Roll.

The man ( can’t remember who it was) said he was unsure. I was left with the impression that it was recent, but could have gotten the wrong impression.
This site says that it is the death of Judge Roll that gives the feds jurisdiction to investigate these murders. Isn’t that convenient? The Obama Administration who would want Judge Roll dead and get to replace him if he dies, are the ones who get to control all the evidence in his killing. Handy. The FBI would only be authorized to come to AZ when they knew Roll was dead. I wonder how soon they got there, and how soon they were notified that Roll was dead.

I’m not sure what happens to the case where he ruled against Obama. If that was a preliminary ruling, as I thought I had read, would an Obama appointee have to finish off the thing - possibly reversing what Judge Roll had done?

Interesting. Could be that just the 24-hour protection lasted a year, and partial protection continued.
One of the links I just gave said that he was in the middle of a suit over whether the law against “ethnic studies” in schools, which went into effect Dec 31st, could continue to be in effect. So there were still emotional issues that could/should have warranted protection.
From just looking at Google responses, seems like the threats he received were from all over the country and most of it came down to 4 people. I don’t know where those 4 people were from - if any were from Arizona.
I would still like to know who Loughlin made death threats against, and when. That could also be revealing. Probably doesn’t fit the narrative.
