Sarah Palins use of crosshairs to target Democratic House incumbents is dangerous symbolism, Democrats say. But a party spokesman says its a stretch to compare Palins imagery to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committees use of red and white bullseyes last year to target Republican incumbents.
Broward County Democratic Chairman Mitch Ceasar played the Palin card this week when he condemned GOP congressional hopeful Allen West for urging tea partyers to make Democratic U.S. Rep. Ron Klein scared to come out of his house.
Palin endorsed West last week. So Ceasar noted that the former Alaska governor and VP nominee also recently unveiled a national political map using rifle crosshairs to mark the members of Congress across the country who supported healthcare reform.
Klein isnt on Palins map, but, Ceasar said, West and his mentor Sarah Palin are shamefully stoking violent language and symbolism that threatens the safety of our leaders and public officials.
Some in the conservative blogosphere contend theres not much difference between Palins map and the Democrats placement of bullseyes on the districts of targeted Republicans who voted against the $787 billion stimulus bill.
Said National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Andy Sere: Were waiting with bated breath for an acknowledgment that all their recent outrage has been manufactured for political gain. In the meantime, were asking Merriam-Webster to add D-C-C-C as an alternate spelling for hypocrisy.

I hope Somebody is cataloging all this....there were several attacks on Cantor (R-VA) in this campaign, and he was definitely NOT the only one.
Thanks for the info.

That rat party spokesman better find a new pusher.
The bad Heroin he's shooting up is damaging his brain - and eyesight.
(if 'something' is 'targetted', then its IN the 'crosshairs'. It's same-same, ya bozo)

Sorry for the double post. Got error message the first time.
Along with the standard leftist crap about the assassin being an "oppressed person" who was deeply frustrated at Republican intransigence on 0bamaCare.
This crap is nothing more than an attempt to take the focus from what actually happened to draw us in to an argument that is totally unrelated.
The only thing that is remotely being threatened here is the First Amendment by this idiot's remark...
Marshmallows or fuzzy sheep should be used.
I have suggesedt Mr Yuk stickers would be more appropriate. LOL
oops, should be suggested
If you’d like to make a compelling argument that the cross hairs idea was anything but stupid with predictable results then go right ahead. Of course it’s easier to be silly.
They were map marking icons and not cross hairs last I had heard.
You have anything that says otherwise? Show your hand.
If someone falsely accused you of something, what would you do? Let's say some nutty but high profile lib took issue with your screenname and publically accused you (by your real name of course) of inciting terrorism, and this accusation was repeated continuously across major news networks, etc...how would you react?
It was clear in March that they were bullseyes and nobody in the palin camp made any effort to change that perception until after the shooting. Trying to spin away from it now just looks childish.
It was stupid then. A bunch of us here said so, and for this exact reason.
This is not to say that palin is in any way even the slightest bit responsible, she is not.
But it would be encouraging to see her supporters here act like adults and say, "yeah, maybe that wasn't the smartest image to use..." instead of bending over backwards to avoid the facts.
I see that you missed the point entirely....have a nice day.
These are not cross hairs, nor are they a bullseye.
This is a bullseye.
These are cross hairs
These are surveyor marks.
