Fayetteville, NC --(Ammoland.com)- If you’re like me, you’ve been following the HK45 endurance test over at Pistol-Training.com.

The test finally concluded at 50,000 rounds and I was honored to fire the 50,000th round through the gun that I helped bring into existence.

As expected, the gun passed the test with flying colors and amazingly experienced only a couple of minor problems… all while going 10,000 rounds between cleanings!

Thanks to Todd for letting me shoot the 50,000th round!

Chuck Taylor documented putting 276,000 rounds through a Glock 17, and there are claims of rental Glock pistols having over 400,000 rounds through them with only minor problems.

That’s a lot of zombies.

I’m somewhat jealous. I have an older .45 HK, a P9S, and the magazine lips bend if you look at it funny. They are also made of unobtanium. Because HK hates me.

Chuck Taylor? Of Converse High Tops?

WTF? Not one more word at ammoland than was in the article above.

And what was the article composition? A third grade class project?
No mention of what H&K model was used. There are at least 4 different models besides the USP. That like saying a Ford just went it’s 50,000th mile without anb oil change. Uh, car? Truck? The article from ammoland was totally useless.

Exactly what I was going to post. 50K isn’t even a break in for the Glock pistols. I’m sure H&K is proud of their product but it’s a long way from the Glock standard of reliability.

Ok. After a LOT of digging & a very painful read, here’s the skinny:
http://hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?122502-HK45-Endurance-Test-on-pistol-training.com

“As announced previously, the 2010 pistol-training.com endurance test will be of a

Heckler & Koch HK45 full size LEM.”

First he gripes about the trigger spring, then the magazine floorplate lip, then the sights.
I thought it was an endurance test between cleanings? Lock it in a Ransom Rest & start firing. He writes like he is prepping for a world class match.

“Since then, I took my Everyman’s Home Gunsmithing Kit (dremel) and recontoured the stupid floorplates. I’ll post pics next week, but it is much more comfortable for me and I’m no longer throwing shots simply by gripping the gun properly.I’ve also added Heinie Straight Eight QWIK sights.”

You could have avoided this by not limp wristing your shots.

We’ve put about 125,000 through our MP-5.One re-barrel and a couple of extractors springs were the only problems.

LOL! That has got to be the winner of the line of the week award.

I agree with you on Dainbramage's line - outstanding.

I heard a good one yesterday from a friend.

He told me he heard a new term for "camel-toe"...

SMUGGLING YO-YOS.

As a former active-duty Marine with a typically twisted sense of humor, I appreciated that one.

So USP & P7 are not models? What are they? H&K is the brand. 45 is the caliber.

"I’m sure H&K is proud of their product but it’s a long way from the Glock standard of reliability."

I own these in both... HK $ Glock. , .40 and .45. The USP is is an amazing handgun; far as I'm concerned, second to none in quality. It's simply built better than the glock IMHO. Both are equally reliable and my bias comes in due to handling characteristics. The USP just handles and feels better to me... much better balance.

Again, just my persona opinion. I really like the Glock stuff too, but I had to inject my bias.. of course!
