NY Times: ‘Islam’ is Bells, Music, Dancing, Free Food

Do you love rose petals and music? Dancing with bells on your feet? How about free food? If you enjoy all these things and were reading the New York Times yesterday, you may have been surprised to find out that you are actually a Muslim. A Sufi Muslim, to be exact. Headlining the New York Times’ online edition was a heartwarming story of hippies…er, um…Sufi Muslims in Pakistan who wish only to dance, sing, practice tolerance and eat free food. If you took the New York Times’ word for it, you might think the Sufi Muslim’s only troubles in life were attacks from what the New York Times refers to as “hard-liners.” Considering that I hold to strict Catholicism, I couldn’t help but wonder if they were referring to me in their “hard-liner” reference.

What the New York Times does not mention is that while Sufism today may be rather relativist in many areas, there are actually Sufi Muslims who are themselves “hard-liners.” In August, Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch, pointed this out in a story about Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf who is a Sufi Muslim.

Generally speaking, however, real Sufis are not usually much of a problem. Sufism focuses on internal spiritual values and development, rather than externalities like conquest and rule:

“Mainstream scholars of Islam define sufism as simply the name for the inner or esoteric dimension of Islam. René Guénon in ‘insights into Islamic Esoretism and Taoism ‘ (Sophia Perennis 2003) contended that sufism was the esoteric aspect of Islam supported and complemented by exoteric practices and islamic law. However, according to Idries Shah, the Sufi philosophy is universal in nature, its roots predating the rise of Islam and the other modern-day religions, save for perhaps Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism; likewise, some Muslims consider Sufism outside the sphere of Islam.

Oh, lovely, so maybe we should all assume that Sufis are all lying, money scuaking parasites. No wonder they're always looking for the FREE food. I know, I lnow, most of them are not a problem, but they're a vanishing minority and if the NAYAT published the story, you know it's 99.9% lies.

Riight. So, basically, what you're saying is that the Sufi are the bonobos of islam. Of course, the peace and love story we were fed about the bonobos turned out to be as true as Margaret Mead's description of the noble savages of Samoa, which is to say a total crock, from end to end, a fantasy composed of the projections of the pseudo-intellectuals who created them.

I'm sure, though, the New York Times wouldn't try to feed us this line of baloney for the two hundred ninety thousandth time since they tried to sell us West Side Story as an anthem of the downtrodden.

I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family “honor”; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren’t “believers”; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for “adultery”; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and Shari’a law tells them to.

What if the 9/11 muslim terrorist pilots had screwed up and hit the NY Times building instead of the Twin Towers?

Would there still be “Bells, Music, Dancing, Free Food”?

Just saying....

There would be among conservatives. I know I would be dancing with bells and lots of music and free food.

Islam doesn’t allow music or singing. Every Islamic country has laws against music. In Gaza you can get a death sentence. Most Sharia laws treat it like eating pork.

I bumped into this Canadian series called
“Little Mosque on the Prairie” (seriously)

It’s been on since 2007 - very cutesy, throws stereotypes around, pretty religious and throws in terrorist jokes to calm the Canadian masses.

Google video has a bunch of episodes:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4689644836814333621#

It is numbing people to Islam, like ‘’Will&Grace’ numbed the flamboyant gay agenda and ‘Big Love’ makes polygamy just an interesting family quirk...

Except for the violence thing, the beheadings thing, the objectification of women thing, the whacking off of hands and feet thing, the pedophelia thing, the terror thing, the bigamy thing, the blowing things up thing, the control freak thing, yeah, they are just happy, dancing eaters of free food. More crap sandwiches from the New York Times.

Sufism acts as a mixture of meat tenderizer and Novocaine on the tip of the sharp knife of Islam. Its function is to soften up and anesthetize the gullible infidel population targets (Buddhists, Taoists, Christians, naive one-world socialists) to make way for the killing stroke of the conquering sword of Islam.
