Oprah Knows Best

In Dinesh D’Souza’s book, Letters to a Young Conservative, D’Douza explains in layman’s terms the difference between conservatives and liberals.

At root, conservatives and liberals see the world so differently because they have different conceptions of human nature. Liberals tend to believe in Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s proposition that human nature is intrinsically good. Conservatives know better. They recognize that there are two principles in human nature – good and evil – and these are in constant conflict.

I’m always reminded of this fact when I hear Oprah Winfrey speak. Indeed, Ms. Winfrey is the quintessential liberal, and her new network – network we’re talking here, not program: talk about a platform to spread your message! – is tailored around this fact. In a recent interview about OWN, Oprah repeated what she has said time and again for over 20 years:

I’m concerned about the bigger overall picture: my belief that people are basically good.

This is the worldview that drives Oprah; it is the basis for everything she produces. Like the now defunct Oprah Winfrey Show (reruns notwithstanding), OWN will be filled with programming that emanates from the liberal mind.

That’s more or less it. Under my theory, Liberals don’t think, they execute a programmed Darwinian strategy to betray, as a means of gaining advantage. As part of this psychology, they were extraordinarily well adapted to mask their betrayal, through a mixture of living in a fasle reality and deceiving, as this what what benefitted their survival the most effectively.

Betrayal in group competition is a Darwinian strategy.

I know this sounds extreme to some, but a better solution is just not to pay to have sewage piped into your home. I don’t miss it a bit.

I wrote a book on this with a simple theory of where the Liberal psychology came from, evolutionarily. See my profile for the theory.

>greek meaning is ‘fear of markets’

If I am right, it is actually fear of the Competitive environment. Not a bad Darwinian strategy for an uncompetitive specimen

Again, the common meaning of agoraphobia is just fear of going outside (to mingle). But the greek definition of agora is ‘marketplace’ (which of course would be competitive) or ‘meeting place’. It was a section of most Greek towns. I look at it as a fear of the market, which is what they target with their policies.

Actually there is still some good programing out there on a few satellite system accessible networks. Plus it's the only entertainment my wife can enjoy as many of her days are confined to the house and bed. There are a bunch of radio stations to listen too. I do have a considerable number of others blocked though for faster scrolling. I do the same with the internet I pick what things I want too see. Also I live on a high ridge on the back side away from the nearest free on the air towers and can not get the local stations except via satellite.
