Women's Rights Must Be Guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution

We won't stand for sexists like Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia interpreting women's rights as unprotected in the U.S. Constitution. In a recent interview, Scalia erroneously stated that women are not protected under the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause. Right now, five justices have the power to pick and choose when women should be considered full citizens. And that's not right.

We need to add an Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution that will guarantee women and men equal status under the law. I stand with NOW today to demand that Congress and the states put women in the Constitution.

Scalia was correct.

He simply said that the Constitution gives no special protection or advantage for any group. If society wants to say somehow women deserve special rights or receive redress for some supposed wrong, then it must be LEGISLATED - not imposed by ideologically-minded judges.

Well uh...that passed in 1972.

You need to get it ratified by three more states. Better get busy honey.

*SNORT* I see ol' Medusa Benjamin has her jock strap riding up her whatsis again..............oh, the pain.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

I remeber the foofoo over the Equal Rights amendment. And I remember how the wheels came off - when Jimmy Carter proposed to set up draft registration that applied equally to men and women.

At which point, all the feminists screaming for Equal Rights began screaming that Equal Rights absolutely did NOT imply Equal Responsibilities, no siree Bob.

At which, unsurprisingly, support for the amendment collapsed. A well deserved outcome, in my view.

Right now, five justices have the power to pick and choose when women should be considered full citizens.

As it is now, five justices or nine justices, it doesn't matter. These justices have the power to pick and choose when women should be considered full citizens and other matters as well.

They make me sick, too. Makes me wish women couldn’t vote...they are destroying our freedom, as I type. Too many incredibly stupid, non-educated women out there. Our education system is doing what it is designed to do by those Progressive/Marxists....

But, but, I thought that the liberal trash was all astir about the Constitution being a 100 year old document that wasn’t binding on anything?
