In his first interview since being sworn in as Speaker of the House, John Boehner makes it clear he has no questions about President Obamas birth, saying the State of Hawaii has said President Obama was born there. Thats good enough for me.
In the exclusive interview with NBCs Brian Williamsset to air tonight on NBC Nightly NewsBoehner does not say hell tell members of Congress to simply put the matter of the presidents birth aside:
WILLIAMS: Im curious as to how much responsibility you feel specifically because of something that happened this morning. During the reading of the Constitution, Congressman Frank Pallone of New Jersey was reading a portion of the document, interrupted by someone who heckled from within the chamber. It was to express doubt over the Presidents American citizenship. Provided you believe the President is an American citizen, youve got 12 members co-sponsoring legislation that does about the same thing, it expresses doubt. Would you be willing to say, This is a distraction, Ive looked at it to my satisfaction. Lets move on.
BOEHNER: The state of Hawaii has said that President Obama was born there. Thats good enough for me.

I loved your answer. I would have modified it a bit:
My opinion of where Obama was born matters less that of the consituent. Many good, honest Americans—I’ve heard from quite a few of them—have questions. Fortunately Gov. Abercrombie has promised to clear that up shortly, by releasing the relevant information.
“Meanwhile, the more important issue is the need for a process that satisfies the public, and ensures our Presidents and officials meet the requirements specified in the Constitution. There are countless times when private citizens have to produce birth certificates to prove their eligibility. We should ask no less of our Presidents. The fact that Obama has not offered a long form birth certificate to clear up this issue is puzzling to me. But I am more concerned about precedent and the overall process.”
Maybe no real improvement, but I get a kick out of goosing Abercrombie. ;)
yep - your adds were great. If schmucks like us can think of obvious things he could have said without any real political fallout then why couldn’t Boehner?
I think the answer is a lack of principles on his part. Notice what we focused on - not politics, not Obama, nothing personal, just the basic principle that politicians have to be held accountable like the rest of us. Our system is no loose a Russian plant could get in if he hasn’t already.
“I dont think the State of Hawaii ever officially said Obama was actually born in Hawaii.”
__
By issuing an official document saying he was born in Honolulu, that’s exactly what they’re doing. That’s the way we establish place of birth in this country — we trust our states to tell us who was born there, and they do it by means of official documents.
She, Abercommie and the usurper ALL tree were in Hawaii last week at the same time, hmmm!!!
You just sound as a broken record!!!
I do think that the Speaker side-stepped the trap wisely like saying: I’ll wait to see what Abercommie can come up with and let him deal with it”!!!
The July 27, 2009 statement and her original statement of October 2008 dont match up. Go back and look at her official statement of October 2008. She said she saw Obamas birth certificate and verified it was officially filed in Hawaii. She misspoke or lied in her July 2009 statement.
The second statement was an elaboration on the first statement, officially authenticating that the data on the certificate confirmed that Barack Hussein Obama was “born in Hawai’i and is a “natural born American citizen.”
The July, 2009 statement was further confirmed by the Governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, last May in a radio interview. The Governor said, “You know, during the campaign of 2008, I was actually in the mainland campaigning for Sen. McCain. This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it’s one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country. And so I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact. And yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue. And I think it’s, again, a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this. ... It’s been established. He was born here.”— Governor Linda Lingle, May 2, 2010

It still hasnt been officially established where Obama was born. Hawaiian officials are either misspeaking or lying. This needs to be settled in court.
“A spurious claim questioning the President’s constitutional legitimacy may be protected by the First Amendment, but a Court’s placement of its imprimatur upon a claim that is so lacking in factual support that it is frivolous would undoubtedly disserve the public interest.”—US District Court Judge for the Middle District of Georgia, Clay R. Land, “Rhodes v MacDonald” September 16, 2009

That’s no “side-step” that’s a definitive statement that actually takes Abercrombie OFF the hook since Boehner is saying confirmation of Obama’s Hawaii birth is a done deal and “good enough for me.”
At the risk of being flamed, I don’t blame Boehner one bit for his answer.
SCOTUS is about to hear Orly Taiz, if they find for her, Bamster is gone.
Biden is also probably impeached for collusion.
Then guess who’s President?... Boehnor.
In the extreme circumstance that this happens, if Boehnor answered any differently the Marxist Media would frame it that he was gunning for Obama’s job.
The Leftist Zombie Ground Troops will be incensed enough without that too.
And I’m not so sure that Cao was a Leftist plant.
What happened is now in the Congressional Record:
the Marxists shunning the reading of The Constitution,
Cao questioning the Bamter’s eligibility.
It is now part of US History.
May the Marxists go down in the shame they deserve.
You still sound like a broken record, over and over and over and over again’ like a paid enabler that you really are!!!
In the only instance ever recorded of members of the Stupid Party sticking to the script, they all answer the big question by repeating a mantra, the exact same thing. "He was born in Hawaii."
Although that has not been proven, it IS possible, of course. What is impossible (if Obama has told the truth) is that he is a "Natural Born Citizen," that is, born of TWO, (that's 2) American citizens.
On the Federal level, that appears to have become a non-issue. Let's see what the 700 new Republican state legislators do about it. Before this man stands for re-election we need to know (1) What a Natural Born Citizen is, exactly. (2) Does Obama fit the bill? The courts having failed, Obama must be forced to sue a state to remain on its ballot. In turn that will force the case to the SCOTUS.
All that is needed to bring the question to resolution is one (that's 1) brave governor.
“You just sound as a broken record!!!
What do you mean? There are doubts that should be cleared up ASAP, but instead there is obfuscation. Even if he was born in Hawaii, what happened with his status later in life?
Good info on both replies, which is very much appreciated. I still have doubts, though, which could be cleared up but probably won’t be anytime soon.

Your sound is like the old traitor QUISLING! [skip] QUISLING! [skip] QUISLING! [skip] etc., ‘nuf said!!!
