LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Three police officers and two other men have been indicted in federal court in Little Rock for conspiring to commit an armored car robbery. 1 of the civilians is also charged with robbing an armored car of $400,000 in 2007.

Little Rock police officer Jason Gilbert, UAMS police officer Sterling Platt and Veterans Affairs police officer Allen Clark are charged with conspiring with two others since 2005 to carry out a robbery.

Antonio Torel Person is charged with the officers and is also accused of carrying out the 2007 armored car robbery in North Little Rock. Also charged in the conspiracy is 41-year-old Mark Davis of Little Rock.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Little Rock says another two men have pleaded guilty in the case and are awaiting sentencing.

Jason Gilbert:
Sigh....Jason Gilbert's father started the Black Police Officers Association and is a third generation cop. The older Gilberts are highly thought of.

Hope he likes his 25 years in the pokey.

The UAMS cop is a former state trooper, and the VA cop is a soon to be ex-federal law enforcement agent.

After giving up the names of the others, I am sure.

I am not surprised at all. Given the communications inside edge, access to operatinal info, equipment, cover of uniform and badges, I would not be surprised if more crime is actually being committed by such “protectors”.

Note than I am NOT a cop hater by any means, I am just ratehr concerned about the risks of so called “security”....

People are as secure as they make themselves, not by how many per captia LEOs or cameras or systems there are.

Best;
