Not because he's funny, but because he's not. It is a boring and irritating business to watch the smirking, foul-mouthed host of the Daily Show. Somebody should and report back because this guy has a skull full of horse **** and he manages to influence a particularly vacuous class of stoners, slackers, mouth-breathers and basement dwellers to get out and vote.

My kids assure me that he and his creepy sidekick, the guy with really strange contact lenses, Colbert, are "cool." I do not think Dude Obama could have won without Stewart expending his "cool" to drive out the nitwits who have just barely gotten their drivers' licenses. I suspect that most of Stewart's audience may be legally adult, but are dependents on parents who are regularly mocked and derided on the Daily Show.

Just as we pay attention to the high-school textbooks being selected in Austin, Texas, we should be aware of what goes on on the Daily Show.

I think he’s funny. At least he was 10 years ago, the last time I paid any attention to him. I saw him do standup at Carolines in NYC and it was very funny. I took my wife on one of our first dates to be in the studio audience of the Daily Show—this was the first year he took over that show and you could basically just walk in to the show. Maybe he’s gotten unfunny over time, as Letterman did, but he definitely has done funny stuff.

Colbert is not cool. He made an ass of himself on Capitol Hill and even the MSM reported it as so.

Quite Hoover-esque don't you think? Sometimes you just need to let kids grow up. The more you are concerned about Jon Stewart, the more he and his agent stick to plan.

Jon Who?

Some people get their “news” from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Sad, really.

That segment on the Happy Meal joke in SF was priceless.
JS guy: force Netflix to do something.
Idiot: we can’t force a private business to alter business practices.
Repeated several times.
JS guy: thats what you are doing with the Happy Meals?
Idiot: (blank stare)

LOL

Stewart is funny when he’s not goring your ox. He takes on Obama and the Dems occasionally, usually followed by an apology to his audience. It’s a shame he’s not more conservative, but then they wouldn’t give him a show would they.

No we have enough mindless liberal trash on the board already. If you want to watch Stewart, then go right ahead, it's your call.

This reminds me of Pelosi...we're supposed to like obamacare because SHE likes obamacare.

In the next 5-10 years, as his audience grows up or migrates to the Colbert Report, he'll get fed up with the comedy portion and want to be taken more seriously as a commentator.

He'll wind up on Fox News, because it's the only news network with ratings ... and because he shows up on O'Reilly already.

Last night, and why I am posting today--Jon Stewart decided that since he can't get John McCain on his show that he'd create a puppet McCain and put words in the puppet's mouth.

Anyone who has read my posts knows that I am no fan of John McCain. However, this creation of a puppet was nastily unfair. He even had JM screaming at Stewart as a "Jew Boy." Has McCain ever shown any signs of anti-semitism? Are we going to hear from Meghan McCain about this calumny against her father, coming straight from the Cool Table at high school?

This sort of thing can take on a life of its own, particularly given the rank ignorance and stupidity of Stewart's audience, who seem to take a hit of meth and go "wooo wooo!" at just about any garbage that comes out of JS's mouth. It's the response of the audience that disquiets and alarms me. America's twenty-somethings all believe that Sarah Palin said "I can see Russia from my house" even though it was part of a SNL skit.

The hypocrite Stewart speaks piously about homosexuals being able to "serve their country" (his beef with McCain is that JM does not support the ban on DADT) but we all know that he holds the military in contempt.

To follow his repulsive skit with the puppet, he went on to gloat over the firing of the captain of the Enterprise for making a politically incorrect movie some FIVE YEARS AGO. Now we know that not only do our young servicemen (in their twenties and even teens) will not only have to submit to being "checked out" by gays, but had better watch their language and not use the "fag" word, lest they get demoted.

Stewart reduces everything to a self-righteous smirk, or a gratuitous "f###ing"--dismissing the problem of men right out of high school who are expected to fight, face death, and kill....but say really nice things about other men who introduce unwanted sexual tension to the already dangerous mix.

Like Stewart would ever pick up a gun and serve his country? Even though he is way too short and far too old to sign up, we all know how he reacts to physical danger since the Times Square Al Quaeda bombing attempt. After that, the edict came down to not even say the word "muslim"...

Way to get edgy, you pathetic coward, Jon Stewart.

Sorry, as a conservative I just can’t get into any censorship. Sure the mush heads will listen, so what. If there are enough differing viewpoints out there, the bad ones will be left in the trash.

The only time I've observed Colbert at any length was when he appeared in front of congress in brownface.

Far from being funny it was painful to watch.

Trolling for Jon Stewart comments is like trolling for comments on the best tool to have in one’s toolbox.
