To Mr. Hoyer, "compromise" is when the peasants shut up and do as they are told.

I’m thinking most democrat congressmen come from greedy, lying, thieving families.

I’ll invite you to come see my family anytime, Mr. Hoyer. I’d lay good money down that we’re a lot happier and more stable than your average liberal family.
Idiot.

That’s funny coming from him. His father was an abusive drunk.

I think one of our biggest mistakes comes from saying about the left that they all hate our country and they want to destroy us.
While I don’t doubt that SOME OF THEM want to, as a strategy for collapsing the system and instilling socialism, there are MANY lefties who love the country too- they are just stupid and naive and really really believe that they can solve problems with the government.
This is the “child-like sentiment applied to adult situations” type of liberal. And we lose the ability to teach them something and turn them off buy telling them we think they hate the country.

Correction.....his father abandoned him. His stepfather was the alcoholic. From the Washington Post, 2007.
His father abandoned him. His stepfather was an alcoholic. By his sophomore year at the University of Maryland, Steny Hoyer was short of cash, getting D's and drifting.
Then one spring day in 1959, a Pontiac convertible cruised past him on campus, carrying a familiar figure. Hoyer followed it to the student center. Spellbound, he listened as Sen. John F. Kennedy appealed to young people to get involved in government.

So if we are going to move forward compromise is necessary. We're headed towards a financial cliff and Hoyer wants us to compromise so we can keep going forward. Hitting the brakes with everything we have is just the first step before putting the government into reverse. Compromise is when we want to cut out ten programs and the dems get to pick two of those to save at the price of agreeing to eliminate the other eight.

Steny Hoyer: Im thinking most Tea Partiers probably come from unhappy families The important thing, Steny, is that you tried thinking.
Don't give up on it. It takes a while to get used to, but you'll be better off for it in the long run.

This guy is definitely right on:
1) I’m unhappy our country is in so much debt.
2) I’m unhappy with our president.
3) I’m unhappy with the Stark treaty.
4) I’m unhappy congress will not secure our border.
5) I’m unhappy with the health care bill ...
and so on and so forth, so ya, this guy is right.

Hmmmmm....I wonder if Steny could be right.
I wonder if anybody has ever conducted a study on the rates of fatherless households as it relates to our prison population.
Well, no need to now. Obviously our prisons are full of people reared in Tea Party households.

"Leader Hoyer says that "Republicans could have worked to put their stamp" on health care reform legislation. That's a bald-faced lie.
The bill that passed the House was crafted in Speaker Pelosi's office, an office that was shut to Republicans' suggestions. Is Leader Hoyer suggesting that the House GOP was able to give its input via telepathy? It certainly can't mean that Republicans like Paul Ryan were allowed substantive input into the bill."
Steny's singing from a worn-out hymnal"
To: Waryone
Liberals are spawned in the sewer, IMO.
To: MsLady
LOL, actually Tea Parties are causing Democrats to have unhappy families, ask those congressmen who got booted out.
I never heard Hoyer talk about compromise in the last two years...
