Saw this guy on TV and he looks amazingly like Obama with a slightly longer and pointier chin!

Hey, maybe some of our Freepers can support this guy for president. He has a fantastic voice. It is nothing like Palin’s twangy voice.

I hope he stays clean this time and uses his new career to reach out to other troubled people! His voice is fantastic!

Just saw a clip of him, all cleaned up, sorting out his 100+ job offers. It’ll be interesting to see how long his new-found fame lasts.

The guy has 9 kids....I'm a little bit sceptic...Did he have acting lessons to go with that wonderful voice.
Look at his mother's eyes...She loves him but has been deeply hurt also.
Ten years?? Take a bus if you want to see your mom so bad...
To: Inspectorette
We wll soon know whether this guy even wants a real job.

SO, I hate idiots that see someone that needs redemption and try to destroy it.
To: rightwingintelligentsia
Giving him another chance is the Christian thing to do.
After that, he's on his own.

I heard this morning that he had been a radio broadcaster before the drugs and alcohol took him down. That partly explains the voice and presence.

Nine kids...that's a lot of child support....and I thought I heard him say he has a girldfriend....Candy??
I'm a sceptic, too.

wonder how long before her relapses and craps on those who helped him. i’d hate to see it, but I’m not too sure he’s ready for the spotlight.
i do, however wish him the best.

Another felon gets a job in the NBA? Seems about right...
To: rightwingintelligentsia
I feel this is a success story, and that this man’s past should not prevent him from rising. He has talent, and his mistakes are only those: Mistakes. If we never let a person get a chance to rise out of homelessness and drug/alcohol addiction, who are we?

Two of our local worthless djs were decrying the fact that Bristol Palin had been offered a job in AZ, while this “wronged” man was homeless and jobless (guess not any more). The djs and news readers around here love to hate anyone from the Palin family, but honestly, I’d rather listen to Bristol than this felon any day.

Your scenario is all too common. He might do better having a small time job in a small town somewhere—fame and fortune is often difficult to handle even for well-balanced people.

I'm on the same wavelength. He's been swept up in the 24/7 "celebrity" swirl; I have to believe it's going to be very, very difficult for him to adjust to this new life because it's not normal in any respect at the moment. I sure hope his talk about God and changing is sincere; if so, this has the potential to be a real sweet story. If not . . .
To: rightwingintelligentsia
If you think about it, this situation is something we see everyday.
Many people idolize those with some sort of talent, ability or presence. But having a good voice or being able to act in a movie doesn’t mean they have wisdom, self control or a good heart.
