Political Correctness: "Allah Akbar!" cheered Egyptian Muslims while trampling the remains of dozens of Christians eviscerated in last Friday's suicide bombing. Yet we're assured that the phrase has nothing to do with Islam.
Video taken at the gruesome scene outside a church in Alexandria, Egypt, clearly shows local rubberneckers whooping it up as they shout "Allah Akbar!" — Arabic for "Allah is greatest!" We heard the same celebratory chant from Palestinians and other Muslims around the world as the Twin Towers burned.
The list of Islamic terrorists heard shouting the phrase before launching attacks is long. The 9/11 hijackers themselves screamed "Allah Akbar!" before crashing their planes. More recently, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was heard crying "Allah Akbar!" before massacring 13 fellow soldiers at Fort Hood.
Never mind all that, say apologists intent on separating Islam from terror. The expression is benign, they insist.
"The guy who gets up on the plane and says 'Allah!' or whatever and then blows the plane up is not making a statement about his faith," American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee head James Zogby said last year, speaking to congressional staffers.
Zogby says it's more an expression of frustration, like Christians blurting out their Savior's name after accidently hammering their thumb. "Somebody says 'Jesus Christ!' they're not making a statement of faith," he explained. "They're saying, I'm really mad right now."
The comparison is absurd.

Exactly. There is no comparison. If someone says “Je-— Chr-—!” or “—dammit!” it’s generally considered to be taking the name in vain and blasphemous. What they say, on the other hand, is praise and as you explained....pride in their action.

And all this time, I thought ‘allah akbar’ was Arabic for ‘Kill Whitey’.
Holder guessed the Times Square SUV bomber, Shazad, was upset by foreclosure proceedings on his house. Mortgage-related issues-----nothing to do with months of training at a Taliban camp in Waziristan.
Interesting that Holder can't see the hand of "radical Islam" in attacks on American soil but quickly concluded, without ever reading the bill, that Arizona's immigration law was dangerous, and, "might lead to racial profiling."
Holder repeatedly fanned the flames of racial and ethnic tension----the exact opposite of what Americans should expect from the nation's chief law enforcement officer.
Most despicable of all; immediately after Obama appointed Holder to the top job, Holder held a news conference and called America "a nation of cowards," WRT racial issues.
Can we coin a name for these who deny the reality of what muslims are really like.
Maybe:

“allah akhbar” can be loosely translated as “shoot me right now!”

Jimmy, I never heard of our pilots shouting “JC” when they shoot down enemy aircraft. Or when they shell Taliban positions.
Zogby should know better than to stick up for those creeps who have been ravaging his ancestors’ Levantine Christian communities for centuries. It is because of jihadis and “Allahu akhbar” that the Christian population of Lebanon-—once over 50%-—is now down to about 30%.
Thought Zogby; at least until recently; had most reliable polling. He had better watch it; he now shows himself to be more than suspect per his motives/efforts. Conscious or unconsious; there is a pathetic compromise of truth here.
And our pathetic, PC infested MSM greatly aids those who wish to hide the true meaning of “Allah Akbar” by translating it as “God is great” in many news stories. They won’t even retain the word “Allah” when they mention what some jihadist yelled.
This is James Zogby, not John Zogby the pollster. I think they're brothers, but James has long been the head of some Arab/Muslim apologist/propaganda organization.
Well, actually...
all those witnesses at Ft Hood were a little bit off on what they heard the murderer shout.
See, he was upset about the long line at the commissary,
and he was shouting “all a’ you at the snack bar!” while he shot randomly.
It had nothing to do with Islam or Allah.
Or so the apologists would have us believe.
Christians know exactly what it means: “You giaours are gonna get beheaded, raped, quartered, hanged, whatever...now.”
