An aide for Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann told the media yesterday that Bachmann is mulling a 2012 presidential bid and is headed to Iowa to talk about the possibility with activists. Bachmann is scheduled to headline a fundraiser for the Iowans for Tax Relief PAC on January 21st in Des Moines.
For the most part, the national media isnt taking the news seriously. LA Times politics columnist, Andrew Malcolm, blew off the idea by suggesting she is just raising her profile to in order to run for the U.S. Senate.
Another opinion writer, Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post, wrote, The Tea Party princess (Mama Grizzly is the Tea Party queen) must be off her rocker if she thinks shes presidential timber. He bases his opinion on Bachmanns performance on Hardball with Chris Matthews of all places.
Im sure these two paid thinkers got a kick out of blowing off the idea of Bachmann running for president. While their friends and cohorts surely slapped them on the back for a job well done, one thing is obvious, they dont know a damn thing about Iowa or the Iowa caucuses.

I don’t have a preferential candidate at this time. I’m waiting to see who really, really wants it & to watch the debates - and then I’ll decide. But if Michele Bachmann presents herself as a serious candidate, I wouldn’t hesitate to back her. She’s a great conservative that won’t back down when the going gets rough.
Would be too good to be true.
Would be too good to be true.
I’m still a Palin/DeMint ticket supporter.
Yes, I also strongly support Bachman in Congress but she needs executive experience & success before running for Prez.
And really, the best way to win as a conservative is to boldly put forth your belief system, educate others, and not succumb to PC.
Boldly stating what you truly believe is something NO leftist can do and be a viable candidate.
I love the idea. Way more than the libs can handle.
Man this would be a dream come true. A true conservative that is intelligent and experienced and is a serious person. No drama with her family of five children. Also, if she were to decide on the Senate instead that would be fine, but I fully support her for President of the United States.
She is originally from Iowa I believe. They should like her there.
Not only does she hold her own, but she is rather regal about it, as though she would not deign to condescend to Chrissy's lowly gutter level.
She ignores all the taunts, the mockeries, the insults -- Bachmann remains focused and on point at all times and she doesn't care who asks her on TV, friend or foe -- it's all the same.
It's a platform for her to present her talking points and that's ALL she does. She is NEVER offended by any of the leftie buffoons, her feelings are NEVER hurt.
If nothing else, her entrance will make this a much more interesting campaign season as she is articulate and very educated and very disciplined.
I was counting on her to keep her eye on those characters in the House! Isn’t Pence leaving?
We’ll have nobody left to keep the clowns in line. meh
Put it into overdrive, Bachmann
She needs Turner to be her Veep...”Takin’ Care of Business”

My dream ticket is DeMint-Bachmann. Michelle is just great and I think she is totally qualified to be President but I worry that she does not have the traction to win. We have to win this time at all costs. Although it will be harder for the press and the uber libs to bash her like they bash Palin. She might have a chance.
I LOVE DeMInt but I don’t want Palin who is shallow and little more than a progressive Populist. DeMint is a conservative and impressive.
As for you Palin lovers, deal with it. I;m not partof your cult.
I love the woman, would vote for her in a heart beat. I hope she runs.
Not serious.
But this is a good thing.
The girls are in cahoots. Michele is going to bloody Obama and draw fire away from Sarah.
We are watching a masterful strategy unfolding.
I like it.
Girl Power!
Yeah baby!
I’ll have to read up on Bachmann. I don’t know much about her. I really like DeMint! He is a true conservative.
We don’t know that Palin will run; Pence may run for Governor of Indiana; other Conservative candidates are an unknown commodity — with Michelle, we known what we’d be getting. She’s a prize! If she decides to throw in, it might not be a bad thing. It could end up being a very GOOD thing. And as far as the House — we just sent up DOZENS of new ‘Tea Party’ Representatives to join a few who are already there to stand for Constitutional and Conservative principles. I think if Michelle was to move into the Executive branch, we wouldn’t leave the Legislative branch destitute of solid Conservative leadership and representation. :-)
Palin has the wrong voice. Her twangyness is easy to make fun of, despite the fact that she is right on most issues.
Bachmann, on the other hand, has a tone quality that is hard to stop listening to. And like others have said here, she is unflappable.
