Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin – whose lips have been sealed about the recent repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” – is now hinting that she supports the move.

Palin has not spoken publicly about the end of the ban on gays serving openly in the military, but she appeared to show support for the change via a retweet on Monday night of a gay conservative radio host.

“Obamacare must go, now. Spending must be cut, now. Taxes must be lowered, now. No time to fool with penny-ante stuff like queers in the military.”

I don’t think the Repeal of DADT was penny-anti stuff.

Taken broadly, the retweet is in the vein of "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

It's one thing to question "unit cohesion" because marines or troops may be concerned about being hit on or openly leered at in close quarters, creating tension, but I do wonder about those so keenly focused on the UCMJ prohibition on sodomy, including oral sex. Do they really think no serving heterosexuals violate that rule or that corpsmen never had to treat STDs?

After reading some of these posts, I guess social issues are no longer a priority.

The posts on this thread, and others like it, are a clear revelation to anyone who is paying attention where Palin is leading her followers.

I like Palin, but if she really does support the repeal of DADT, then I'm incensed.

People on this thread are just mealy-mouthing around because its Palin who is in question; 'Why are we stuck on this?' and 'Who cares?' and 'well, maybe she doesn't care one way or the other'. The same people who would post 'IBTZ' at any FReeper who appears to favor the repeal. I'm vehemently against the gayifacation of our military, and I will not try to excuse ANYONE who is happy about the repeal, including Palin.

Pissant clearly has a problem with Palin and often tries to bring her down, but in this case, if its true, then just admit that Palin is wrong on this. Tweet her and facebook her and tell that you are MAD AS HELL that she would cave on this. Help her realize that she's letting her base down.

Don't dance around and try to equivocate and try to excuse someone just because they happen to be a politician you like; stick to your guns on what we believe, stand your ground, excuse no one who stands against our values.

It's "penny-ante," as in playing cards with pennies for bets. Compared to having NO economic or political freedom (we are losing BOTH under this government) and compared to babies being SUCKED into a sink every business day, DADT repeal is "penny-ante". Gays in the military was Clinton's original sin. We have them now. I don't want to go back to "Don't Ask if they're a fag, and Fags don't tell if they are". I want to go back to PROSECUTING sexual fraternization (a redundancy) whenever and wherever it occurs, and back to ASKING people on their entrance exams if they are a homo, and not letting them into the military if they are.

WE MUST SET PRIORITIES. It's okay if they shift based on the conditions on the ground. The military does it, very successfully. Why can't people who are interested in promoting freedom?

They will repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and make all federal employees eligable to extend their benefits to their same sex spouces. This will cost us big with the AIDs medical costs that will come into play.

I FAVOR THE REPEAL!

Smell any ozone?

I FAVOR THE REPEAL of Clinton's Folly, back to the days when we ASKED incoming recruits whether they are gay, and telling them to hit the road if they were! I favor going back to the days when butt buddies got a Big Chicken Dinner (Bad Conduct Discharge) when they were caught in the shower!

The libs have twisted things around so many times, that some conservatives actually find themselves favoring policies that they were against before, just because the commielibs moved to the next signpost along the road to statism! WE MUST STOP THAT and return to opposing or supporting policies based on the underlying PRINCIPLES.

No, there is hypocrisy by the left around that little old “settled thing” called abortion too. They claim they care about the kids. You see, abortion isn’t even a states rights issue. The right to life is a Constitutional protection. Our side kicks that can down the road but never seeks to change it.

This is a priority issue. I don’t want my little grandson growing up with teachers pushing how having two daddies or two mommies is a good thing. I don’t want our military infused with gay day parades and numerous lawsuits. A moral military is essential.

Maybe you don’t care, but I do. Your freedoms are being pissed away daily. This was one more of them.

Tammy Bruce has commented on Palin’s retweet of her tweet:

http://tammybruce.com/2011/01/a-few-brief-thoughts-on-a-sarah-palin-retweet.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

TB seems to think Palin agrees with her condemnation of the hypocrisy the Enterprise incident shows concerning the military’s DA/DT position, and TB also believes Pain condemns the social ostracizing of gays, but does not know Palin’s full position on DA/DT.

This will cost us big with the AIDs medical costs that will come into play.

Then let's hit 'em with that! Play the "hypocrite" game they play: if they REALLY want to reduce medical costs, then why support a "lifestyle" with a KNOWN high fatality rate based on the activity itself. Let's hit 'em with the research. Because I guarantee, if we play it from the morality angle, the libs will defeat us in the court of the media.

Your problem is that you don't recognize your allies.

I don’t want our military infused with gay day parades and numerous lawsuits. A moral military is essential.

And I agreed with that. I want to go back BEFORE don't ask don't tell. And if you study the issue, I'm sure you will too. Maybe you don’t care, but I do. Your freedoms are being pissed away daily. This was one more of them.

(bangs head) What have I been saying all these posts? Our freedoms are being taken by this government, and if we don't stop that, how can we get queers out of the military? Stop being so short-sighed.

As far as I am concerned, our side is becoming as left as the left. At least the real left doesn’t try to hide it anymore.

I have no reason to believe the GOP has what it takes to turn anything around anymore. It is all talk.

I am sorry if I jumped you. Frustration, I guess.

I agree with you there. But we can't abandon our allies, like Palin, because they want to tamporarily place more emphasis on one front of the war against statism over another. It all has to get done, but let's pick one, beat it, and then move on. Priorities do shift in real military skirmishes, and they should here, too.

I understand your frustration with the GOP; heck, I share it. We've got to hold these guys' feet to the fire, though, or all that we have worked for is in vain.

I don't see it that way, even if it feels like it sometimes. No matter whether you support keeping DADT, or not, there's a process ahead that will take time to create, need certification, need approval, etc. The issue isn't over for any side and can be addressed in good time.

The top military priority should be winning in Iraq and Afghanistan and getting home safely, none of which this administration seems determined to do. The DADT repeal feels like an unnecessary distraction and a debate that should've waited until peace time.

While I wish it weren't so, there are more immediately pressing economic priorities and I support the new Congress focusing on that.

I am sorry. If she is weak on the repeal, I won’t be impressed. She needs to speak out on this. I don’t give the others any slack either.

Or maybe we should give all of them a few mulligans just to make it fair.

Well they don’t really have a choice but to focus on that. Just having the House makes it hard to do a whole lot. The Senate and the WH is owned by lefties in both parties.

The next time she’s on Fox, I hope Sean or Greta ask her to clarify her DADT position. As a Fox News contributor, she’d have a hard time sidestepping it if asked point blank. Any way you cut it, Sarah’s TB retweet with no comment or follow-up is odd, especially since she normally doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind.

Sarah Palin, no matter how much we may like her, is still a politician. Never trust politicians.

Always remember Bob Heinlein’s definition of an honest politician: When you buy him he stays bought.

You’re struggling to find a real disagreement. The homosexual agenda - which is closely aligned with feminism, abortion, pedophilia, etc. - is what is not a minor issue. Repeal of DADT is a part of that agenda, and any politician who supports that repeal is pretty much on board with “normalizing” the sodomite lifestyle. I certainly agree with you that sodomites should not be in the military at all.

Most people think that the disordered sodomite personality is simply a matter of sinful and revolting sex acts. In fact, it is far more than that.
