The U.S. Navy will temporarily relieve Capt. Owen Honors of his post pending investigation of the series of explicit videos he is said to have produced when he was second in command of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, sources tell ABC News.
Capt. Honors is under investigation for a series of raunchy videos in which he appeared from 2006 to 2007. The videos featured a series of skits that aimed to provide some humor during the long deployment at sea. At the time the videos were produced, the Enterprise was operating in support of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
But the skits were clearly offensive to many people. A leaked version of one video, first reported by the Virginian-Pilot newspaper on Saturday, contained derogatory references to homosexuals and was filled with profanity. At one point in the video, Honors introduces a scene in which two female sailors pretend to wash each other in the shower by saying that "chicks in the shower" were his "favorite topic."

Repeal of DADT
You apparently haven’t become a shell back or a blue nose.
People join the military to avoid immured in a cubicle, and strangled with paper-shuffling, process oriented, PC bureaucrats.
But let’s say you had all that, plus poor wages, plus seperation from your family, plus you were fighting the wars of OTHER countries. How about that? Did I mention you could DIE doing you job..?
And let’s say further there was the a threat of prosecution if you did your job a little too well.
How many people will want to join such a military?
Sounds like old Richard Pryor material.
>Too bad. He should have realized that you have to be careful what you put on the recordwritten or video.

look on the bright side.
opening in the rank of Capt.
several people will get promotions
I think this is PC BS. They let a dangerous, unstable POS like Holly Graf command a damned cruiser, and they relieve an apparently competent commander like this one over a skit during a long deployment intended to break up the monontony and provide some relief..
No wonder they have pussified the traditions like crossing the equator and such. Someone might get offended because they had to shove their face into a fat guy’s greased belly.
The frikking horror.
My Company Commander at Basic Training would have been Hung and Burned ... (think R Lee Ermy)
One of my favorites...
“Your not Queer? Then Tell me Latex Breath WHAT DO YOU DO FOR REAL??? !!!, because that doesn’t even LOOK like a real Pushup” (Smokey Bear Hat... Screaming in your ear)
Those were the Good old Days
I know that after Basic everyone becomes an adult but ... my my how correct can you be? Later when I was in the Army our Jodie Calls while we were Running or Marching were raunchier than what this guy is getting lynched for.
TT
God help us if our navy ever gets into an honest to goodness shooting war. And the rest of the military is not far behind.
This sucks.
Pansies can’t take a poke without getting pissed.
Capt. Honors, I salute you!
Im glad I did both my line crossings and Chiefs Initiation before the popular use of video.
Obama going after his second political prisoner.
Did 20+ in the Navy and this XO showed a lack of common sense in todays age of the Internet.
I’m not Navy, but even I know that
Polliwogs cross the Equator and are initiated as Shellbacks.
Bluenoses cross the Arctic Circle and are initiated as Polar Bears.
Anyway, the oh-my-oh-horrors scandal about this vid is that it’s about liking women, and it makes fun of gays.
The officer who produced it may have shown poor judgement in today’s PC climate, but he did nothing wrong. Bottom line, end of discussion. If he is punished, then G-d help our military and the United States.
I could list hundreds of old command sergeants major, first sergeants, drill sergeants, and other various grades of sergeants that would never survive today's military. I would be one of them. It is not just the PC junk, but just the general way the service is now. I have been retired over 18 years now. Just the difference for 40-plus years ago when I went into the Army and today is like NIGHT and DAY, and that is no joke. I served during Vietnam, after Vietnam and the dark years of the 1970s, especially under Carter. At least the 1980s were good under Ronnie. I retired just as Slick came on board. The LORD blessed me there. But, I saw thousands of changes during my 20 years. Since I retired, they have screwed retirees straight into the ground with broken promise after broken promise after broken promise. That is what they call our earned benefits now, PROMISES. Sorry Charley, we can't keep those PROMISES any longer, so sorry, too bad, you served 20 years for basically nothing in benefits.
Every hint of the military will eventually be stripped away by these PC creeps.
Just thought about this motivational skit again... if what this “Officer and Gentleman” and he is BOTH offended anyone ... do those offended get equally “offended” if they get shot at and killed? or do they blame that on someone else as well?
Zero will or at least has his sights on a “Union” for the Military.
This PC Crap needs to Stop! (Bill Clinton started this PC Crap... and it’s unintended consequences ... he may step up, just to preserve his Legacy)
TT
What a sorry state of affairs our military has become.
It is a shame and makes me madder than hell. Those people who served and were PROMISED they would be taken care of are being shafted. My parents, both passed away now, were on the cusp of what we see happening to military retirees today.
I don’t know the man involved or his effectiveness as an officer. And I realize that this is part of an ongoing effort to neuter our military. But I don’t want the captain of one of the largest warships in the world to be slumming for popularity points with the crew. I want him to command respect. And this is coming from a guy who hated to salute.
The videos were stupid. Maybe they wouldn’t have mattered in a different era, but this guy made it to O-6 in the modern Navy. He should have realized what he was doing.
