Dig long enough and just about every Republican has a green skeleton in their closet. Many of them have their last presidential nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain, a longtime cap-and-trade enthusiast, to thank for it.
(snip)
"I support a reasonable cap-and-trade system," [Pawlenty] said. "I think it'd be good for the federal government to take that up rather than have states take it up as clusters of regions."
Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, appealed to a New Hampshire audience in October 2007 on moral grounds by saying he backed a cap-and-trade system to reduce greenhouse gases and faulted the Senate for its unsuccessful efforts to pass legislation.
Even Sarah Palin has a YouTube moment. Just days after McCain picked her as his running mate, Palin told ABC News she believes human activities "certainly can be contributing to the issue of global warming, climate change" and that "we've got to do something about it, and we have to make sure that we're doing all we can to cut down on pollution."
(snip)
Romney worked for two years as Massachusetts governor to cap greenhouse gases from power plants as part of a regional pact.
(snip)
"I believe that climate change is occurring the reduction in the size of global ice caps is hard to ignore," Romney wrote in his 2010 book "No Apologies: The Case for American Greatness." "I also believe that human activity is a contributing factor."
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich may have the hardest job explaining himself thanks to a 2008 TV commercial sponsored by Gore's Repower America campaign. Gingrich and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sit on a couch outside the Capitol and declare that while they don't often agree on issues, "we do agree our country must take action to address climate change."

Parroting a nonsense phrase to show he has no clue.
I’m not on it, so I must be irrelevant.
I would have preferred if she said conserve resources or save resources. "Carbon" is not pollution by any stretch of the imagination.
Conveniently, she said that after Climate Gate hit the newspapers. The question is why did she beleive in algore’s fairytale before that?
Well, she is for carbon caps, that’s bad enough. She is a confused mess.
Lessee, the PI, a very left wing defunct rag in Seattle, providing a Politico (wholly owned subsidiary of the Washington Post) story.
Clearly their aim is to create unity and satisfaction among conservatives, right ?
And we can believe everything they say, right ?
Thanks for reminding me to post a response to your nonsensical bull feces/gibbersih!
Elect Sarah Palin for President 2012
Re-Elect President Sarah Palin 2016
If you want to vote for someone who believes in capping carbon emissions, that’s your problem. But since you ignore or support the rest of her liberal positions as well, I’m sure that won’t change your mind.
My guess is that Ron Paul is probably about the only politician that hasn’t endorsed cap-and-tax at some point. Maybe his son, as well.
I’d say the knock on Sarah Palin is a bit unfair, though, as the quotes in question come from the period when she was the Vice Presidential candidate and could not contradict McCain on any issue of significance.
Look into it a little, and I think you might be surprised.
The reason for it is, of course, bogus...but we should be careful about criticizing people for past statements.
Elect Sarah Palin for President 2012
Re-Elect President Sarah Palin 2016
SHe gives Mitt a run for the money as wolrd champion finger in the wind flip flopper.
Biden, Palin in complete agreement: Carbon caps are coming
PALIN: Alaska feels and sees impacts of climate change more so than any other state. And we know that its real And I dont want to argue about the causes. What I want to argue about is, how are we going to get there to positively affect the impacts? even in dealing with climate change, its all the more reason that we have an all of the above approach, tapping into alternative sources of energy and conserving fuel, conserving our petroleum products and our hydrocarbons so that we can clean up this planet and deal with climate change.
IFILL: Senator, what is true and what is false about the causes?
BIDEN: Well, I think it is manmade. I think its clearly manmade. If you dont understand what the cause is, its virtually impossible to come up with a solution. We know what the cause is. The cause is manmade. Thats the cause. Thats why the polar icecap is melting.
IFILL: Let me clear something up, Sen. McCain has said he supports caps on carbon emissions. Sen. Obama has said he supports clean coal technology, which I dont believe youve always supported.
BIDEN: I have always supported it. Thats a fact
IFILL: We do need to keep within our two minutes. But I just wanted to ask you, do you support capping carbon emissions?
PALIN: I do. I do.
So you expect her to disagree with the guy that just choose her as his running mate. *facepalm* And what about Drill Baby Drill. That doesn't sound to green to me.
You are so Stuck on McCain you are blinded to reality sometimes.
Saint Sarah said that? No way!
It applies only to Saint Sarah. She can flip-flop as much as she wishes.
December 1659 had an average temperature of +3 Degrees Celsius. December 2011 average was -0.7 Celsius degrees almost 4 degrees lower.
