LORDSTOWN, Ohio Thousands of the men and women here in northeast Ohio build cars. Their fathers made steel. Home was Youngstown, a city of factories filled with neighborhoods of immigrants from Europe and the American South.
Today, however, most of these families have left. "I have three kids, and I don't see much future for them here," said Kevin Scott, a 39-year-old with Magna Exteriors and Interiors who installs car seats at GM's giant Lordstown auto plant. His children likely will be forced to move on as tens of thousands of Ohioans have to Texas.

I guess they will have to raise taxes on those left behind to see them through in 2011.
Texans need to constantly remind them WHY they had to move to Texas and make sure they get their political minds right.
Exactly!!!! We do not want another Florida....
So long as they leave their left-voting ways in Ohio, I’d be all for them going to Texas.
That’s been the problem where I live (NC). It seems many of the people that move here from the Blue States have amnesia as to what got them to move.
As long as they leave their love of Socialism and Unions in Ohio, Welcome to Texas! The football capital of the world.
Right you are. That’s what worries me too...(being from Texas). Welcome one and all (except SOUTH of the border) but if you’re a liberal, don’t bring those views to Texas. BTW, John Kasich hasn’t even been sworn in yet....give the guy a chance Ohioans.
oh goody...
Let’s hope they don’t bring their damnyankee entitlement mentalities with them.
I don’t ever want to hear another “Here’s how we did things up North” story. If the North was so friggin great, they wouldn’t be coming here.
Or Arizona. Our problem is all of the “snowbirds” who usually vote for DemocRATS show up here just in time for our elections. They vote absentee in their home states and vote here also. It really screws up our state. Arizona is a very conservative state although the election result normally don’t reflect that due to the influx of lefties around election time.
“It seems many of the people that move here from the Blue States have amnesia”
It’s not amnesia, it’s a fundamental character defect in most.
I’m a Damnyankee who cashed in my yankee money and moved south.
Glad I did.
At our border we need check point.
Pull all foreign plated vehicles over and ask the following questions:
1. Did you hope and change things?
2. Are you or have you ever been part of a communist organization like the UAW, teachers union, or other radical organizations advocating the overthrow of our government?
3. Are you “green, ecological, regenerative, sustainable, organic, all natural or bio degradable?”
4. How many fingers am I holding up, if they answer “fo” they’re from LA and will suck off our welfare system and break into our homes, living in FEMA trailers for eternity.
5. Inspect vehicle for stickers that say things like “coexist, rainbow pride, yes we did.....” immediate rejection!
6. Ask them if they see an abortion as a constitutional right but bearing arms a privilege reserved only for the elite and government?
7. Ask them how many baby momma’s it takes before you max out on child payments as a percent of your income. If they know the answer, immediate rejection.
........
Good luck with that. Ask people in SC & NC about NJ and NY transplants. Or ask NM, ID, AZ, UT residents about Calif scum invading.
You will get all this union trash in TX. They fouled their nest in Ohio being union scum.
Folks, don’t worry about the gang from Lordstown. I know them well. They comprised a huge segment of my customer base during the half-dozen years I spent in the boat business.
A fingernail sketch:
They are lefties only so far as the union goes, and not even that far. It extends no further than this, politically. Trust me.
These are what we used to call “Reagan Democrats.” Salt of the earth, hardworking, God-fearing folks. They are old-fashioned enough to look down at the “Obama welfare class.” Don’t be surprised when you hear them begin a sentence by saying “You do what you want, but no member of MY family has....” They are very proud. And serious family people.
They are fierce hunters, and enthusiastic fishermen. And yes, they believe in the 2nd Amendment. And the death penalty. These are the kind of folks who voted Democrat because their Dad, and their Grandad did.
This is the only “cultural training” you might have to do. Remind them that that was then, and this is now. And that this IS Texas, after all.
I predict that no bunch will adopt the “Don’t Mess With Texas” mentality faster than this bunch. Lucky you.
And prolly 90% of them will vote for Sarah, btw.
Hope they vote for conservatives!
Hubby and I spent some time last June scouting out coastal South Carolina (Charleston / Mount Pleasant area) as a possible place to live "someday". We met LOTS of Ohioans who had recently settled in SC, mostly young people. It was incredible... seems like everyone we bumped into had just arrived from Ohio...
Just gag me... I hope this guy isn't migrating to Texas.
A similar migration from the rust belt to Texas, especially Houston, was spurred by the Jimmah Catah reign.
Outrageous! How do they get away with this??
