The data are in. The science has spoken. The proof is conclusive: Conservatives are cowards.
No, really. We learned this fact from Prof. Geraint Rees of the University College London, who says that after studying the brain scans of two politicians and 90 students, he stands confident in declaring that in conservative minds the brains amygdala, which is associated with anxiety and emotion, tends to be larger, whereas the anterior cingulate, which is associated with courage and optimism, tends to be smaller.
So conservatives are bwock-bwock-bwock! chicken. Wussies. Namby pambies and nervous Nellies, every one of us.
Well said, Prof. Rees! Im not going to look at the details of this definitive study there arent any, because it hasnt been published yet which was commissioned by the actor Colin Firth, who was serving as the guest host of a radio program. Im not going to ask whether 92 people is an adequate sample size (90 students and post-docs in London? How many were conservative by American standards? Six?) or how you account for the fact that peoples political views change, sometimes from one election cycle to the next. (When I was a student and ardent Democrat, was my amygdala slimmer? Did Americas centrist voters reconstruct their brains in the last couple of years?)
Im just relieved to finally have a real, honest, scientific answer to something thats been nagging at me.
Rees has the answer to why, in my Army career, I kept running into so many conceptual performance artists from San Francisco and Chelsea. Seldom did I do a push-up or clean my M16 without finding myself amid heated debate from the officer class about whether Walter Mondale or Eugene McCarthy was the most inspiring American political leader...

Its junk science... if mind control was possible, it would have been attained along. You can’t tell from looking at me what my political views are. My lifestyle, the car I drive and what I eat can mislead people to arrive at factually inaccurate conclusions.
I don’t think any one knows for sure what someone is thinking unless they ask. There’s no way any one can know about the totality of the human personality or fathom the mysteries of the human soul.
I mean attained long ago.
I got a chuckle out of it.
“Scientists” who produce that kind of crap always seem to have an axe to grind. As in the case of the supposed “homosexual” regions of the brain. Homosexual “scientists” did the alleged study.
Control? No.
Influence? Definitely.
Just look at the garbage-in media --> garbage-out election results of 2008. Look at the degree to which people are buying into the socialist, neo-Marxist ideas of "collective freedom" and "social justice" and allowing those constructs to replace real freedom and real justice in what used to be the free world. They don't have conservatives controlled and won't until they can openly use force to compel obedience, but they are close to reaching that threshold. If we mess up in 2012, they will be there.
They don’t have conservatives controlled and won’t until they can openly use force to compel obedience,
Therein lies the goal of gun control.
I think what this means is that conservatives actually tend to analyze things and consider their consequences, whereas “liberals” go for the sound bite and don’t think very deeply about anything whatsoever.
Hardly a positive trait, in my opinion.
They left out the activating ingredient-ELECTION TO POLITICAL OFFICE.
One whiff of Washington’s air and gonads depart.
Aaaannnndddd...
It´s called Science this days ain´t it?
Shock treatment was a hot ticket long ago but it’s making a come back I guess Scientists run out od ideas sometimes.
These imbeciles just make up lies and match their research to it. The truth is long gone.
I dunno... maybe it's my amygdala itching me, but how big is it supposed to be? What's the proper cranial alotment for an anterior cingulate?
One other thing: isn't the amygdala associated with memory storage and recall?
I meant "allotment."
Maybe swollen amydalas are bad for spelling.
