For all the kvetching, Californians will not learn from this. There’s very little doubt that, of all the tax bills presented to them, many will be voted into law. The worse things get, the more the “rich” and the corporations will be blamed, and the more tax bills will show up.

Prop 13 will be a good example. Its demise will be accompanied by a war against those who are still protected by it, portraying them as “rich,” selfish and greedy.

California deserves Brown, and will likely re-elect him in 2014, a 77-year-old whack job who perfectly suits the state.
