In your galactic ignorance you equate my belief the gays are worse off now then before (in the military) with an acceptance of the repeal of DADT. I never made such a statement.

"Why, because you feel that is what will happen?

I don't "feel" anything, pal, I KNOW what is and will continue to happen. One of the reasons you come off as so clueless here is because you are trying to fit the military mind into that of a PC civilian. It won't work and the military can come out with all the regs it wants to to make the queers feel all warm and fuzzy in the military and not a one of these directives will prevent a gay who even is PERCEIVED to act inappropriately towards a hetero from getting the living crap beat out of him in a place and at a time when there will be no witnesses to support him when he whines to his commander.

If you had ever been in the military you would know this already and you would also know word spreads like wildfire on a base and it will soon get around to the others queers what is in store for them should they even think to exhibit and brag about their new found freedoms to "be themselves"

I was a US Naval Officer on a destroyer for 4 years. When gays in the upper ranks of the officer corp "come out" it will be hell. What if the XO is gay? Is he going to let wet blanket parties just happen? Believe me a gay XO will be protecting his young stash. This little drama will play out in private, but it WILL happen. The "funny" thing, everyone will know who the queers are, it will be their team against our team, all under the guise of Good Order and Discipline. Gay tolerance training will be mandatory.

My deceased husband was a Master Sergeant and I think he would agree with your statements about gays in the Army.

Sounds like first hand knowledge.

My son is on the same page as you. There are lots of “unwritten” rules and traditions and there are ways things are dealt with.

No matter how much “education” is given, these gay soldiers will be surrounded by 99.9% of guys who won’t go for this new
“education”. They will have their strength in numbers.

Like my son told me, you work, you do your job but the minute you tell me you have a boyfriend or what you did with your gay friends on your free time over the weekend, I’m done with you. You broke the circle of trust. You are out. He says his entire platoon feels that way. They all have said that they will have to have their own barracks because not 1 will room with an open gay. I think the gays know that and the ones in combat companies know deep down that they will still have to keep it to themselves if they want to survive their enlistment.
