These garbage men really stink.
Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts -- a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.

This was felony murder of that woman who died because she could not get an ambulance for 10 hours!! These lousy fat assed crap heads need to be fired and then tried for murder!!!!
This is the kind of blackmail unions love to do."Cough it up taxpayers and company owners,'cause we union members know you've got money."
Today's unions mostly protect the incompetent, lazy, and criminal.
So Far there are two deaths related directly to this action.
An elderly woman, who called 911 due to a medical emergency,
And a new born who had to be birthed in the lobby of an apartment building, and did not survive.
In both cases, first responders were unable to negotiate the unploughed streets to save these lives.
Criminal.
It is indeed criminal, and everybody knows it. This “incident” is wide open for the world to see. Any lefty in NYC that was stuck or sympathizes with the dead can not avoid seeing that the union thugs empowered by ass-clown obastard and the rats are behind this.
As for Bloomberg, I hope he gets totally hammered over this. He should have seen this coming. Unlike Bush who could do nothing to force Gov. Blanco or The Chocolate City Mayor into acting responsibly, Bloomie knew or should have known the vicious union thug PUBLIC employees and their cowardly scumbag leaders would pull SOMETHING to get back at him and the taxpayers.
Every last one of those workers who participated in this should be fired TODAY. The legislature should change state law ro disempower at least public unions in NY and the people should mercilessly and relentlessly HOUND incoming Governor Cuomo to sign it.
This was an absolute OUTRAGE. Bloomberg should have already sent aides in to seize the city transportation records, videos, recordings of radio chatter and transmissions, etc., and should have an investigation underway NOW. But he’s such a pansy, he won’t.
70 or so years ago many public officials called the unions out as communist organizations, and they were right. But, as usual, people succumbed to their greed and turned a deaf ear.
It’s not a federal issue and I don’t want the feds sticking their noses in every time a municipal government gets hammered by a municipal employees union. However, what they could do is call for hearings on the role that public unions play in large disasters and examine current federal law protections the unions enjoy. They might determine that their power and practices work so adversely against the interests of the public they are supposed to serve that they should be abolished. This, of course, would be done with the understanding that some arrangements will be made for renegotiating employment contracts with the workers individually so that people close to retirement aren’t completely left out in the cold the way the workers just did to the people of NYC. ;)
The union could be listed as a defendant along with the city and some individual union members and leaders. Getting class action status is a different matter. Family members related to the dead would probably have standing to sue for wrongful death as individuals.
Basically, anybody can sue for anything, but it’s hard to sue successfully in such situations because the plaintiff has to prove that the negligent behavior was the proximate cause of death. It’s all about medical experts.
What would be sweet would be to get fat judgments against the union members who did this and garnish their wages for years to come. THAT would put a quick stop to such a thing happening anywhere again.
....oops....not proximate cause. Contributory negligence.
This is nice devolve.
>> Lot of finger pointing.
Are you defending the inaction?
Good Point - I was remembering the blizzard of 96 and Guiliani’s response. I thought that I remembered that Guiliani’s leadership was superior to this recent debacle. Bloomoberg and his minions are done - put a fork in them.
And NY Jews have voted Republican for Mayor in 5 of the 6 last mayoral elections, twice against Jewish Democrats. If it weren't for Russian Jews moving to Staten Island, we would not have retaken that Congressional seat this year.
And if you are going to play religion here, I've got one for you. Councilman Halloran ain't Catholic. He's a Theodist. (I had no idea what to wish him at the last holiday party.)
Government Worker's unions. I hate the Kennedys.
The People of New York City want our Federal Government to be more like the City of New York!
HEADS SHOULD ROLL OVER THIS!
But instead, nothing will change. It’s a big blue area in a big blue state. The Unions run it - have a nice day. :(
I am saying OFF WITH ALL THEIR HEADS
This post office was a major one in the area I live in. I got there about half hour after it opened. There was a long line, even going out the door. They had ONE clerk. I kept expecting another one any minute now but another one finally showed up when it was almost my turn after having stood in line 45 minutes.
By then some of us had been making comments under our breath about the sorry situation and when the 2nd showed up, I stated that that's probably cause the first clerk has to take his break.
Told my sister and she said that there was only ONE clerk on the day she went to mail packages also.
For crying out loud, it was Christmas - 4 times at least the number of people needing to use the mailing services.
I had a glimpse of the future with Obamacare.
There was one in Endicott NY on Wednesday too,,,,PEF...brought to you by AFL-CIO.
Most of the upstate DMV work for the County Clerks’ now...
If I knew where this happened I would let law enforcement know...
Not only are they living with it, they are laughing at us hysterically!
