Christine O’Donnell Responds to Rehashed Rumors of Misuse of Funds By Liberal Media
Gateway Pundit ^ | 12/30/10 | Jim Hoft

Of course, they had to use an unflattering photo of conservative Christine O’Donnell for their report.

Friends of Christine O’Donnell released this statement tonight.

Christine O’Donnell’s campaign released the following statement in response to rumors of a legal investigation. The O’Donnell campaign revealed that prior to today Democrat insiders had warned her that the “Establishment” were planning to use phony investigations to end her political career.

Campaign Manager Matt Moran responded to the rumor of a criminal investigation,

“We have heard absolutely nothing other than the same unsubstantiated allegations and rumors that have been circulating in the press for months. If anything does materialize from this rumor, we will continue to fully cooperate as we have made every attempt to ensure we are in compliance with all rules and regulations. The politically motivated charge was all started by false accusations by Christine’s political opponents, and ratcheted up by former Biden staffer Melanie Sloan and CREW with their false claims. Let us be clear: there was no impermissible use of campaign funds. Period. This is just an ongoing effort by the George Soros-funded CREW and other liberal groups and individuals to intimidate and threaten Christine, even after the election.“

Christine O’Donnell commented further:

“Since anonymous sources are being taken seriously, please allow me to share some tips I’ve received and keep the tipsters’ identities anonymous. We’ve been warned by multiple high-ranking Democrat insiders that the Delaware Democrat and Republican political establishment is jointly planning to pull out all the stops to ensure I would never again upset the apple cart. Specifically they told me the plan was to crush me with investigations, lawsuits and false accusations so that my political reputation would become so toxic no one would ever get behind me. I was warned by numerous sources that the DE political establishment is going to use every resource available to them. So given that the King of the Delaware Political Establishment just so happens to be the Vice President of the most liberal Presidential administration in U.S. history, it is no surprise that misuse and abuse of the FBI would not be off the table. And further connecting the dots, do you think it is just a coincidence that Melanie Sloan was a senior Biden staffer just before she joined CREW and filed her complaint against me?!”

O’Donnell referred in part to the fact that CREW’s complaint is based upon two people who have no knowledge about the matters they allege:

(a) Kristin Murray spent 1 1/2 weeks with Christine O’Donnel’s 2008 campaign spread over 3 weeks — most of it distracted by a family or personal concern — and was fired for not showing up to work due to the distraction. Thus, Kristin Murray’s claims are not made from any personal knowledge but Murray is simply repeating rumors started by others.

(b) David Keegan was allowed to organize one or more fund-raising bar-b-cues and events, but was never privy to the finances of either the O’Donnell campaign or O’Donnell personally. Keegan also has no knowledge of the issues he raises concerning O’Donnell.

O’Donnell added: “I have faith that our supporters and the general public will see right through these thug tactics. This is simply an Establishment trick to stop the anti-establishment Tea Party movement in its tracks. Heck, the Presidency is at stake in 2012.”

Boiled down to essential facts, the Associated Press report indicates only that a single person was interviewed in the routine handling of the September 21, 2010 complaint by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

This routine questioning to review and clear a complaint is being mischaracterized as something new or different. In reality “nothing happened” today except that it was a slow news day at the Associated Press.

Sounds a lot like what the establishment RINOs and communists have been trying to do to Palin.

If they were really interested in election abuse, then Harry Reid would be the topic of an article like this.

Normally I don’t trust people in politics in matters like this, but it seems there is a new group of elitists hell bent on conformity to their way of doing things.

She needs to win this thing just to stuff it back into the Rove types face. Their power base needs to be discredited and destroyed.

That’s the problem with conservatives. We still want to believe in the corrupt system. To wit, “we will continue to fully cooperate.”

No. Don’t cooperate. Fight. Find some incorrupt federal prosecutor (they do exist) and pursue criminal corruption charges. Leverage RICO, violation of civil rights under color of law, conspiracy to do the same, basic fraud, etc.

Screw “cooperating.” Fight. Fight within the system, or soon we will no choice but to be slaves of a fascist state or to fight outside of the system. Or even worse, we’ll get by for 20 years, and our sons, daughters, nieces, and nephews will be left with that choice.

The GOP establishment whores need to be taken out of commission just as most certainly do the Democrat Party whores. To Hell with the entire political machine in this country... The whole putrid thing needs to be stomped out of existence.

The TEA Party and other patriots’ movements will eventually accomplish this goal. One way or another, we will rid America of this toxic and treasonous cabal of political charlatans. We will infiltrate their ranks and destroy their traitorous and corrupt system of cronyism from within.

I look forward to the day when both the GOP and the Democrat Parties are decaying corpses, buried in some unmarked grave.

Rip their nut sacks off, Christine.

I cannot believe people threw good money down behind her.

I am 100% okay with the Tea Party Express derailing RINO candidates like Castle but if you’re going to do it, make sure you’ve got a good candidate that can win. Otherwise, you’d been better putting your money elsewhere like maybe helping the guy in the state of Washington more or in Colorado where it was close.

If the TPE had stayed out of NV, Harry Reid wouldn’t still be in DC. We’d be much better off with Sue Lowden or Danny Tarkanian.

Just my opinion.

Heh.

Except when they actually have a chance at winning and scaring RINOs like you.

Funny how the COD bashers instantly show up in this thread.

The same people tried to swarm Palin with lawsuits, to break her financially, and she has responded by going on the attack.

ODonnell is being subjected to the same kind of tactics. Does anyone think the Obama campaign finances received the same kind of scrutiny? With ACORN being investigated by O’s Justice Department, how deep do you think the investigation will go? O’s entire administration is in bed with Soros; do you expect to see those connections explored by the FBI?

Biden’s son was a lobbyist while his dad was a senator, as were Reid’s sons. Does anyone expect to see these relationships ventilated by the FBI? Or Katy Couric?

“We’d be much better off with Sue Lowden or Danny Tarkanian.”

We’d be better off without RINO traitors who prefer Harry Reid to Sharron Angle.

The time to get behind Angle was back in October. That ship has sailed. Sure you might not have liked Angle, but voting for Harry Reid because she’s too teapartish?

I thought RINOs like you were supposed to get behind the nominees, not vote with the enemy.

Gee, considering the hundreds of individuals (or is it thousands?) who ran for House and Senate seats, why is there only ONE (that I know of) who is being investigated, especially in light of some of the rumors we have heard about?

Maybe we should all take another look at O'Donnel?

Though she ran a terrible campaign (and I'm still concerned as to why she didn't go all in and spend more before the general election) if the Rats and Republi-Tards are that affeared of her that they are trying to destroy her (the same as Palin) there must be a reason, such as internal poling which shows she might be a force to be reckoned with in the future, or is it simply a case of spite, revenge or paybacks for her having embarassed the Ruling Party Elitists and might "they" (both R's and D's) be wanting to send a "message" to all others who may be considering "bucking the Establishment/System?"

Just askin'!

I gave money to Ms. O’Donnell and I don’t regret it for a second. Until HARD evidence proves otherwise, I believe her to be what she says she is.

I also gave money to “the guy in the state of Washington” and “in Colorado”. I don’t regret giving that money either. I don’t have any problem supporting candidates whom I believe in wether they win or not.

What I do have a huge problem with is people like you telling all of us here that we shouldn’t ever support a candidate who is going to have a difficult time winning the election, no matter how much we might agree with her in principle.

According to what you are saying here, we should have supported candidates who would win, even if we have to hold our nose. If the candidates that you supported in Delaware were so good, how come they didn’t win the Primary, huh?

Ms. O’Donnell won the Primary, she was the Republican candidate for the US Senate. What is so damn hard about that? If all you want is some seat with a R after it, why didn’t you support Castle? He would have won, no problem there.

IMHO, the train of thought you display here is a very large part of the reason that we have such a non-responsive government now. If your not prepared to stand on principle, go stand somewhere else. But leave Christine O’Donnell alone, she’s done nothing to you.

The only difference between your opposition to the United States Constitution and that of Harry Reid is that you—if you fall into the same general category as Karl Rove—probably don’t have the insight to recognize it.

but Charlie Rangel unlawfully uses millions from his his campaign fund to pay defense attorneys for his tax evasion

.... and not one charge for the miss use of funds or the tax evasion
