In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, 49 per cent of Republicans said that they were "very" or "somewhat likely" to support a run by Mrs Palin, who shot to international prominence in 2008 when she was selected as Senator John McCain's vice-presidential running mate.
This is down sharply from the 67 per cent of Republicans who said that they were likely to support a Palin candidacy in 2012 when they were asked in a CNN poll in December 2008.
Of her main potential rivals, two thirds of Republicans questioned stated that they were somewhat or very likely to support Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, while 59 per cent said the same of Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor.

Do not allow the media to pick the GOP candidate.
A CNN “poll”. ROTFL!!! That’s some funny stuff.
Knowing cnn the ouestion was probably framed as do you think her hair style suits her.
Yeah, right MSM. We will go and back two losers with no ideas from the ‘08 election. Nice try. These two dopes will be finished before they get started.
Why don’t you work on why Obummers approval is in the high 30’s?
CNN POLL
“If Sarah Palin set off a nuclear war and destroyed the planet would you think less highly of her?”
99% say “Yes!” — Instant propaganda for the media.
And, yes, they’re going to do EVERYTHING they possibly can to foist another McCain on us. Speaking for myself (well, and probably a lot of you, too!) - fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
I’ll go third party before I’ll vote for another Republican RINO. Never again. Never. No more McCain’s.
CNN should be doing a “poll” to determine how many of the braindead who watch CNN plan to support their boy, Barry, in 2012. We Republicans will deal with who we want to run.
Same here.
Nice try, but it ain't gonna work. She's already got the 'broken glass' segment of the population sewn up. The more the MSM does this, the more solid her support becomes.
The lefty polls are in high gear trashing Palin lately. Proves she’s the one we need to nominate.
Here’s how I see it, Palin can win the conservative base but she loses a lot of independents and other middle of the raod types that might otherwise be ours. Romney, on the other hand, loses a good portion of the conservative base but hangs on to the aforemtnioned middle of the road types. The end result for either scenario is a likely Obama win imo. Obama is not as vulnerable as we want to believe. The Senate may be however.
They’ve had lots of practice at writing poll questions and choosing respondents to get the resutls they want. The fact that they published it means it came out the way they wanted. Palin scares the hell out of them, but they like Mitt and Huck.
She definitely makes liberals heads explode.
But I’m supporting local idol Mike Pence, at least for now.
enough said! Palin 2012!
CNN ... should say it all
vaudine
I hope she runs in 2012! I am reading America by heart now, and the more I read her or hear her speak, the more I know I want to see her in the white house.
DOWN WITH REID !!!!
