Sarah Palin's popularity rating takes a dive (compared to Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee)

In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, 49 per cent of Republicans said that they were "very" or "somewhat likely" to support a run by Mrs Palin, who shot to international prominence in 2008 when she was selected as Senator John McCain's vice-presidential running mate.

This is down sharply from the 67 per cent of Republicans who said that they were likely to support a Palin candidacy in 2012 when they were asked in a CNN poll in December 2008.

Of her main potential rivals, two thirds of Republicans questioned stated that they were somewhat or very likely to support Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, while 59 per cent said the same of Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor.

You are right about conservatives dividing and losing. Look at CPAC. Previously it was able to pretend to have conservative unity. But now some important groups want 100% purity on their litmus test or nothing. Rather than join the debate and win the debate, the retreat in defeat to maintain their purity.

Some litmus test types are likely to work harder against the person they disagree with 20% of the time than the person they disagree with 80% of the time.

Another problem is paid campaign pimps who each want to manage a presidential campaign. They will whisper in people’s ears that their guy can win with the sole motivation of getting on the gravy train. They will exploit the divisions among us for their personal benefit.

And, unfortunately, many of us will fall into the mistakes our own side makes. Obama and the Dems will not beat us. If we lose it will be because we fumble away the ball.

The liberal MSM’s concerted effort and conspiracy against Palin’s future political plan continues...
They sure want to defeat her now.

On the subject of Sarah Palin, and whether she is influencing things in our Country.........the TV right beside my ‘puter is tuned to FNC. They just ran a promo for a new series debutting on January 9th. “ALASKA STATE TROOPERS.” It ran several times earlier this evening, as well. I asked my wife if she thought the networks would be showing all this interest in ALASKA if Sarah had never come on the scene? I think they can’t help themselves! What do y’all think?

CNN is hyping Mit ~ and he doesn’t have a chance. We are going to be getting rid of the same medical insurance nonsense he saddled Massachusetts with.

I think the Commie’RATs in Barry’s “media” would love Romney to be the nominee. They’d be able to spend 24 hours a day beating him over the head with their “He’s a Mormon” rubber chicken.

Basically, all it says, right now Romney and Huckabee are a little more popular among Republicans than Palin and Gingrich. If this polling is the same at the end of 2011, it will be significant....until then...nah....magritte

I measure all of it against the knowlege that the people who are doing this believe that molding public opinion to be favorable of liberal political values is part of their job.

Congratulations, Rabs. You're only the 14th Palin hater to post this. Isn't there a Paulist meeting you should be at?

You’ve got it wrong. Onada is vulnerable. The only question is which conservative candidate is going for his jugular? And that candidate is already known: Gov. Palin. In the absense of a political office she’s singlehandedly attacked and exposed The Marxist Usurper on everthing from the ecomony, taxes, healthcare and abortion—to name a few. I’ve heard nothing cfedible from the several other “conservative” pretenders out there.

But perhaps, I’m missing something. Maybe you can fix my ignorence by citing one thing each any of Palin’s competitors have said that has pricked Onada in any meaningful way. I wait with baited breath.

The left hoping we think our best bet is the Huckster or Slick Hairs... or at least hoping to fool us into thinking that... they’re so stupid...

I have never seen a more attractive Presidential candidate—hairstyle and all.

I just wish Hillary would run against her.

Sarah would slaughter her like a caribou.

This CNN/Poll drivel has been posted at least a half-dozen times. Get over it, PDS’ers.

For all his downside, Obama is well in control.

I wish Sarah had gone after chairing the RNC. From there she could influence a lot more people.

I will say this to that, there’s no guarantee that the economy will still be in a rut in 2012 and, if it is, the Republicans will have to share about 33.3% of the blame this time around. Personally, I’m hoping the fight doesn’t revolve around 2 more years of economic downturn. I can’t afford that fight. Unfortunately, I think the economy will still be tanked in 2012 and I am not happy to say it. 2 years is an eternity in politics too.

Suuuuure her numbers are down. Eitther way I think Sarah should lay low for about 8 or so months, just tweet and facebook on major policy issues and disagreeements with 0bama as they come up. Then come roaring out of Tokyo Harbor like Godzilla really close to Iowa. It’s hers to lose.

Anybody is going to have a tough shot against 0bama in the general...the entire media is rooting for him, so why not run a candidate that has balls and calls out the media and 0bama? Remember McCain? He was RIGHT THERE next to him in 3 debates and did NOTHING. That’s EXACTLY what anybody but Sarah will do.

Palin 2012.
