Tea Party Group Reveals Republican Targets For 2012 (RINOs Lugar, Corker, Hatch, Snowe, Brown)

(RTTNews) - A prominent Tea Party group sent a message to members on Monday identifying five current Republican Senators that they intend to target in 2012.

Tea Party Nation named Sens. Dick Lugar, R-Ind., Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, Scott Brown, R-Mass., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn., as Republicans that need to be sent into retirement, accusing them of being Republicans In Name Only, or RINOs.

The message cited Lugar's vote against a ban on earmarks as well as a his votes in favor of the DREAM Act and the START Treaty. Hatch was also criticized for being a "pork king" and a co-sponsor of the DREAM Act, which would have provided a path to citizenship for certain young illegal immigrants.

Tea Party Nation blasted Snowe for her votes in favor of the health care reform bill, the START Treaty, and the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while the group called Brown " the biggest disappointment of the last year."

Judson Phillips, the founder of Tea Party Nation, said Corker is the group's top target, because he "has done many things to sell out the conservative Tennesseans who put him in office."

"The good news for 2012 is that so many liberals are up for reelection, Republicans are guaranteed control of the Senate and we do not have to pinch our noses this time and support a RINO to prevent liberal control of the Senate," Phillips said.

He added, "2012 will be a very good year for the Tea Party movement and RINO is on the menu!"

Tea Party members had success in a number of Republican Senate primaries in 2010, including in Utah, Florida, Nevada, and Delaware, although their results in the general election were more mixed.

The “Purge” might start with race baiting RINO poser Michael STEAL. If the Pubbie elite can keep schlubs like him in control, our efforts may have been in vain.

The GOP hasn’t gotten a penny out of me since he’s been the Chairputz and they are not about to as long as he stays there.

re. 31 - It is starting to appear that Sarah shot herself in the foot (or something in that direction) with her endorsement of flaming RINO McLame. At least with the TEA Conservatives. Polls show even Huckleberry and Romney eating her lunch. They say she would lose to Obama in a landslide, and I’m rather afraid she might.
Palin is history, IMHO. She’ll do well to land a job doing the weather on a local TV station somewhere.

Re 43 ` “Remember, the people in AZ vote in his elections. “

So do the people in Mexico.

Are Poll workers in AZ allowed to check ID of Voters to confirm citizenship?

Who do you think voted Harry Reid back in? Americans?
Riiiight....

Re: “Snowe, Brown, and Corker voted against the DREAM Act.”

Like I said; every now and then they get one right.
Let us give thanks for small morsels.

That's the problem - it's "every now and then". They should be right 80-90% of the time. I don't expect perfection, and I don't think anybody does. I just expect a Republican to be predominantly conservative and to NOT sleep with the enemy.

George I think you take it a little too far with Palin. I do not however think she is as conservative as she is made out to be by her worshipers.

Re 145: “As far as Scott Brown is concerned, he can shove it. He will never get a single dime from me again.”

I would imagine that Brown, if he has any sense at all, must realize that he is already a one term wonder.

Right on that. The Republican Party needs more than an enema, they need a dilation and curettage.

Re #151: “The only way I can see someone better from Maine than Collins/Snowe is if some French Canadien or Irish union member candidate from Lewiston (Would you settle for Waterville?) with experience run as a right-populist....”

Great idea; but Paul LePage is sort of spoken for for a while, and we really need him in the Blaine House.

We have a chap who wants to have a go at Snowe, and I & most of the ME TEA party likes him - but personally I don’t see him as being all that viable. We do not want to put a minor leaguer up against the Snowe / Establishment ‘Pubbie machine. She has a reputation of crushing primary opponents like a bulldozer crushes a box turtle.

It's people like you that told as a conservative like Chris Christie could never get elected in New Jersey.

Brown had Tea Party support in Massachusetts and won. That means someone far more conservative could have won the seat.

It is the loser's mentality that you have the prevents any real progress from being made.

Were you at the Convention when WE passed our “new” platform? (actually sort of a RESTORED Republican / Constitutional platform)?

Did you get a look at Snowe’s face when the place exploded for Paul LePage and her “anointed” primary Candidate for Gov. Steve Abbott got a “ho-hum” reception?

Did you see all the yellow Gadsden flags around the hall? She did.

She may still assume that she owns this State and her party machine, but I suspect that she might have taken a little pause for concern.

IF we can put up a VIABLE Candidate against her, (and alas, I have yet to see one step forward) this might be the year... or so we might hope.

I hear ya, FRiend; it's just that our expectations and reality don't always fit into the same grocery bag.

Hatch? He has an 88% ACU rating!

Who do they want to replace him with, Joseph Goebbels?

Is this more of the Anti-Mormon madness?

Maine is not quite as Liberal as Mass. Maine just elected a Conservative Tea Party Republican Governor and took control of the state House and Senate.

I’m in Maine. I’m going to vote in 2012 and I won’t be voting for Snowe. It might be time to vote for a Democrat in November 2012 for Senate. But I think that the tea party will be successful. LePage won’t be helpful, but that’s ok.

Do Democrats have DINOs? Democrat Senators who year in and year out vote with Republicans more often than not?

It’s not unheard of, but it’s not anywhere near as common. Why? Because Democrats get rid of their DINOs. We need to get rid of our RINOs. The RINOs need to be harmed, punished, removed from power, removed from influence.

Instead of Snowe, put Christine O’Donnell in there. The Dems will freak out and spend resources in Maine instead of somewhere else. Same with Mass. Put Christine O’Donnell in there instead of Brown. Again, Dems will freak out, spend money there. By the end of the process, no more RINOs left.
