Elizabeth Edwards 3-pronged plan of revenge against John Edwards
Examiner ^ | 12.28.2010 | Ruth Houston

Before she died, Elizabeth Edwards carefully crafted a devastating 3-pronged plan of revenge to punish John Edwards for betraying her with Rielle Hunter, and then lying about it for months before finally telling her the truth. See How to Get a Cheater to Tell You the Truth about His Affair

If the details in the National Enquirer are to be believed, Elizabeth used her parting statements to John on her deathbed, the arrangements for her funeral, and the amendments to her will to ensure that John Edwards will pay for cheating on her for the rest of his life.

A Well Thought Out 3-Pronged Plan of Revenge

Though she struggled to forgive John Edwards for his affair, and urges her children, her friends, and the public to the same, for Elizabeth Edwards that forgiveness never came.

Elizabeth bided her time and carefully plotted her revenge on John Edwards, Rielle Hunter, and John and Rielle’s lovechild, 2-year-old little Quinn.

As reported in the National Enquirer, which first broke the story about John Edwards and Rielle Hunter’s affair, below are the details of Elizabeth Edwards 3-pronged master-plan of revenge.

On Elizabeth Edwards’ Deathbed

As she lay dying, Elizabeth Edwards took steps to ensure that John Edwards understood the full import of how deeply he’d hurt her with his affair. She even sent a message to his mistress, Rielle.

During his bedside vigil in in Elizabeth Edwards final hours, John Edwards repeatedly begged his betrayed wife for her forgiveness. But she adamantly refuse to forgive her cheating husband for his affair. It was reported that as she lay dying Elizabeth angrily screamed at John: “You ruined my life — I’ll NEVER forgive you!’ – words that will probably haunt him for the rest of his life. See Elizabeth Edwards Got Her Revenge on John Edwards Before She Died andSee Rielle Hunter and Other Modern Day Mistresses Who Ruined Their Lover’s Lives Elizabeth Edwards also unleashed her anger at her husband’s mistress before she died. An insider told close to the family told the National Enquirer that Elizabeth Edwards cursed Rielle Hunter, yelling at John that Rielle should know that for destroying their family, she would “rot in Hell.”

At Elizabeth Edwards’ Funeral

Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral arranged were designed to further punish and humiliate John Edwards.

While John Edwards was permitted to attend Elizabeth’s funeral and sit up front with their three children, he was not allowed to speak. Elizabeth Edwards was eulogized by their 28-year-old daughter Cate and two of Elizabeth’s closest friends. Insiders told the National Enquirer that Elizabeth Edwards deliberately excluded John Edwards from any official role.

To add insult to injury, John Edwards name was not mentioned anywhere on the printed funeral program which the mourners received.

In Elizabeth Edwards’ Will

Elizabeth Edwards’ will was cleverly amended to exact the ultimate revenge to all parties involved – John Edwards, Rielle Hunter and even little Quinn, as you will see from the details below. See Elizabeth Edwards Will Amended to Heap Further Revenge on John Edwards and How to Legally and Financially Get Revenge on a Cheating Mate

Elizabeth Edwards amended her will so that if John Edwards marries, or even lives with his mistress, Rielle Hunter, he will forfeit a sizeable portion of the couple’s $53 million fortune. See As America Mourned Elizabeth Edwards, Rielle Hunter Envisioned Marrying John. Elizabeth’s amended will also stipulates that John Edwards cannot call off the sale of their multi-million family mansion in Chapel Hill and move in with his mistress, Rielle and their daughter, Quinn.

Under the terms of Elizabeth’s Edwards’ will, both the family mansion in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and the family’s vacation home on Figure Eight Island, are now off-limits to her husband’s mistress, Rielle Hunter.

In her amended will, Elizabeth Edwards also seeks to ban little Quinn – John and Rielle’s lovechild – from ever seeing or even coming in contact with her 12-year-old half- sister, Emma Claire, and her 10-year-old half-brother, Jack, - John and Elizabeth’s two youngest children.

Elizabeth Edwards further restructured her will in such a way that John’s lovechild, little Quinn is cut off from ever receiving any of the funds intended for the Edwards children, Jack, Emma Claire, and Cate.

In one final act of revenge, Elizabeth arranged things so that John Edwards is banned from making any major decisions regarding his own children, Jack and Emma Claire, unless he has the approval his 28-year-old daughter, Cate.

Those Closest to Elizabeth Edwards Probably Never Knew

Elizabeth Edwards put on a brave front for her children, the public and those around her.

It appears that Elizabeth’s closest friends had no idea how her heart was savaged and ripped apart by her husband’s affair. See Elizabeth Edwards Showed Us Infidelity from the Betrayed Wife’s Point of View.

The lengths an angry and unforgiving Elizabeth Edwards went to, to seek revenge and punish and humiliate John Edwards, gives us some idea of how deeply she was hurt. See Revenge Cheating is a Common Female Response to Infidelity.

Anger and bitterness are dangerous and destructive emotions. Elizabeth Edwards’ efforts to seek revenge probably hastened her death.

John Edwards will have to live with that knowledge for the rest of his life.

This is a really disgusting “article”. Full of outright lies.

One example: In the absence of abuse on the part of the half sibling, here is no legal way from the grave to prevent your children from seeing their half-sibling when the father has complete custody. In this case, the half-sibling is a toddler, not capable of abuse.

John Edwards, as the only parent, makes those decisions now and no one else.

Elizabeth Edwards’ children, whom she clearly adored, deserve better than to see this sort of vile garbage being published about their mother.

I agree with your first paragraph but not your second.

My sister is married to a younger man and there is none of what you describe. It depends on the couple. I think it was her illness that he was escaping from since he was the weaker of the two.

Hopefully these scumbags will get to meet again in a very warm spot....there’s nothing, absolutely nothing honorable about either of these 2 lying hypocrites, they deserved each other. The country dodged a bullet when it turned out J friggin Kerry and his silky VP.

Yeah I know the personal anecdotes but the general tendency in older woman/younger man marriage is he will fool around. It took John Edwards a long time to do this. Or maybe he had other affairs with no babies that Elizabeth let slide

She wrecked her health by having babies at age 48 and 50 via fertility treatments. Perhaps .... just maybe this was her way of competing against younger gals John was seeing? Who knows and who cares because I like neither

I am sure she was a shrew and a harpie but then for every man married to a shrew and harpie we cannot give a carte blanc option to adultery. Oh, by the way, did you know that every woman who is a shrew and a harpie was CREATED by her husband. He is only receiving back what he put out, only double.
When will men wake up.

The Enquirer is often right- in the OJ case, it had more on the ball than the NY times, a fact I rather enjoyed.

There are several things in the article that can be checked out. Did John speak at the funeral? Is his name on the program?

I read an article about Elizabeth where a friend talked about her. Her first words were with Elizabeth you always knew where you stood, that there was no pretense with her. As all women know, that is code for Elizabeth could be a witch. She also was a very, very good lawyer. I have no doubt that at least a good deal of this article is true.

And from what I can see, the man deserves every bit of it.

that’s what I’m thinking. Will they volunteer to pay and inheritance tax? The lib’s wanted the family of the Yankees to do so

If John Edwards came into a fortune by means of his wife’s family or estate, then I can understand how she might take precautions that his child be an adulterous relationship not be used as a conduit to funnel her estate to the mistress.

My (very) Southern, and lovely wife says of both of them: “Bless their hearts...”

Only another Southerner will truly understand. LOL.

I agree. This woman's hate may have had a lot to do with her recurring cancer.

This is all bullsqueeze. It will have NO force of law. Community property will devolve to the husband. The wife’s will makes no difference.

If the terms of her will are as reported, it appears as if she is doing what most of us would do-—protecting her assets for her children. Last year it was reported that she appointed her adult daughter as guardian for her.

She had no legal or moral responsibility for Quinn (sp). She did have a responsibility to her kids to make sure John (or anyone) had no way to control her assets after her death.

This article and the one in National Enquirer are the result of someone using the legal language in her will for this story.

I have no way of knowing this, but my sense is that she did make some sort of peace with scumbag before she died, if for no other reason than for her two younger children. I cannot see her leaving them with a legacy of hate for their father.

As I told someone earlier, just because she forgave bad boy, doesn't mean she would not prevent him from having any control whatsoever over her assets once she left. Nor does it mean she was required to welcome the mistress & lovechild into her family.

I was in one real estate transaction with her. The deal fell apart.

If I publish my opinion about her, John will probably sue me.

She didn’t do squat. Edwards will live out his wicked life just fine. He has enough money plus he will make more, his kids will move on with their lives knowing him as their only parent and this Hunter chick will keep on breathing, that’s more than Lizzy is doing. These revenge articles are sad attempts by “First-wives-club” types to create a sense of power for themselves.

We'll never know what was in her heart, and her death is a tragedy to her children.

Her husband was truly a scumbag. Beneath contempt.

But she also was happy to play the political game while it was in her interests.

my BS meter is jumping off the charts over this so-called inside view of the deathbed scene.

Who would the source be? John? I don’t think so.
The kids? no way.

Who else in this story had a motive to paint Elizabeth in a bad light and offer some sort of excuse as to why John may not jump on the marriage wagon as soon as Elizabeth is gone?

I think Reille is the “source” here, and I think the story is as loopy as she is.

Oh yes, the “evil eye”.

I love Italy, was just there in October.
Would make a nice landing pad from the USSA.

At least the chaos of Italy is comical; here, not so much. Hussein-Mugabe (nice touch) has made it plain silly when it comes to corruption.
