Huckabee Gaining Strength In New 2012 Poll

(NewsCore) - Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has the support of more Republicans around the country than three of his potential 2012 rivals, according to a new CNN poll released Tuesday.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll found that 67 percent of self-identified Republicans were either “very likely” or “somewhat likely” to support his candidacy in 2012.

That compared with 59 percent for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, 54 percent for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and 49 percent for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

It is the second recent poll to show momentum for Huckabee. A Public Policy Polling survey taken just before Christmas showed the former Arkansas governor overtaking Romney in the pivotal state of Florida.

“Huckabee- social gospel + fair tax. He could be Palin’s “Liason to Disenchanted (with the SBC) Southern Baptist Ministers”.”

I will never vote for a Baptist Preacher. They belong in the pulpit not politics.

So, does Sarah support Life or not? (I thought one main reason the Left hates her, is because she actually chose Life when presented with a tough choice.)

The definition of "Life," as an immovable first principle of the Christian Right, is that Life is defended and supported by the Constitution (and DoI). It is the first and foremost of the enumerated rights, granted by God. Therefore it is ABOVE the courts of men.

In the generic, that position espouses the support of a Constitutional amendment defining it as such.

Palin believes the Right to Life belongs to the states respectively - A grievous and unthinking error.

So no, Palin does not support Life, regardless of her position wrt Trig (which I applaud).

...the ONLY candidate to fully support life?? Did Huck refuse to have an abortion of a known defective child??

See #106, and stop emoting: YOU don't get to define what "Life" is wrt the Christian Right, nor is a bleeding-heart story liable to distract the political purpose.

Palin is right, you are wrong. Period.

FYI, I'm Roman Catholic, and have been anti-abortion all my live, even before I converted.

You're obviously of that school of fundamentalists who can be led down the primrose path by any candidate who makes the "right Christian noises", no matter how odious they and their behavior is in person. Huckabee is a joke. Palin is the real deal. One talks, the other walks.

No, she is not right. Even in the common sense. The Right to Life cannot naturally be left to the states. It cannot belong there.

So what?

You must be under the impression that I am defending Huckabee. I am not. I have never supported him, nor will I.

It is Life that I defend, the principles of Reagan, and of the Christian Right. Palin will not suffice, The Christian Right will *not* compromise on Life.

Huck's rise, yet again, proves it.

According to our CONSTITUTION, she is correct. And that is what counts at this stage.

"So what?"

So my anti-abortion chops are as good as yours, if not better.

"It is Life that I defend, the principles of Reagan, and of the Christian Right. Palin will not suffice, The Christian Right will *not* compromise on Life.

Ah, yes...Reagan. The man who signed California abortion-rights into law, is just great. While Palin, who supported an Alaskan pro-life constitutional amendment, who actually, personally, chose life, is not. Stupidity lives!!

"Huck's rise, yet again, proves it."

What it proves is that there are still a bunch of fundamentalists who can be led around by the nose by the right "Elmer Gantry", in this case, the "Huckster", which name fits the man to a "T".

The whole idea that anybody who isn't wildly in favor of a pro-life Constitutional Amendment is therefore pro-abortion is so stupid as to beggar the imagination, and exists for one reason, and one reason only...to peel off as much of Palin's anti-abortion support as possible.

No, she is stone dead wrong according to our Constitution, and incredibly shallow-minded in her position.

Her point (and yours, it seems) is made when you can show me any state (or even the fed) which has the right to take YOUR life in abrogation of the Constitutionally appointed limits thereof (Due Process, Just Cause).

Show me that, and I will cede the point. Otherwise, what is good for you is good for the unborn child, and you are in grave error.

So my anti-abortion chops are as good as yours, if not better.

My "chops" or yours are not the question. It is the chops of the 60M strong Christian Right which are in question, and their position has been long declared.

Ah, yes...Reagan. The man who signed California abortion-rights into law, is just great.

Perhaps you should read the actual bill that Reagan did sign, and not rely on what the state of Cal did with it thereafter. His intention was very clear. Nice to see your neocon roots, though. Hacking on Reagan is the surest sign.

What it proves is that there are still a bunch of fundamentalists who can be led around by the nose by the right "Elmer Gantry", in this case, the "Huckster", which name fits the man to a "T".

Yeah. Enough of them to bring him right down to the wire, all by themselves. There is no doubt that the Pro-life movement was behind huck, and rightly so, as they had absolutely nowhere else to go. Palin won't change that, no matter how much you wish for it.

The whole idea that anybody who isn't wildly in favor of a pro-life Constitutional Amendment is therefore pro-abortion is so stupid as to beggar the imagination, and exists for one reason, and one reason only...to peel off as much of Palin's anti-abortion support as possible.

That isn't what I said.
