MANATEE, Fla. (AP) A group of unruly teenagers attacked a 27-year-old Marine and his wife who had asked them to be quiet during a Christmas night showing of "Little Fockers."
The attack happened as the couple left the theater near Bradenton Saturday night. Authorities say the fight attracted about 300 bystanders.
Federico Freire, home on leave from Afghanistan, says they left the theater shortly after the teens were asked to leave.
The couple was kicked and punched in the parking lot before a gun-brandishing witness told the crowd to step back just before deputies arrived.

"I feared for our lives. I want to talk to my lawyer."
OMG! This happened in Manatee County!!
There are even folks in this forum who say that they will use their blackberry in a cinema and to h**l with anyone who objects.
If the “yutes” had any “gats” they would have already pulled them out when the bystander showed his.
ROFL!!!
So where do people like these get the idea that’s it’s okay to beat the Hell out of other people who haven’t attacked or threatened them? That’s the real problem that this society faces. I’m tired of the bullshit.
Did you read the article?
This is what happens when parents let the federal government raise their offspring.
Kids turn into animals.
Surrounded like that? I’d say it qualifies as “necessary”. I think we can all agree on that point...
It’s part of the “culture” -
if you’re “dissed”, like having someone ask you to be quiet in a theater,
you’re perfectly justified to beat the hell out of the “disser”.
Indeed, it’s a culture that needs to be tolerated a LOT less.
Theater management should have brought the police in to toss out the “youts” immediately after they started to become unruly. But they were probably afraid of lawsuits and charges of racism.
Edited to remove anti gun bias. Brandishing? Puh-leeeze!
It’s not unusual to see County Sheriffs and local police out in force on weekends in working class/poor areas of Central Florida, including paddy wagons, mobile command stations and SWAT uniformed officers touting beanbag semi auto shotguns in the concessions lines. (Seriously, I stood behind a fat cop in a full SWAT uniform waiting in line to buy popcorn on duty, was completely surreal evening in Osceola County, Florida)
Coming from NJ/NY where the only time this level of police presence is is seen is during terrorism watches or large political protests, I was stunned seeing dudes walking around with 30 sets of ziptie handcuffs on their belts the first time I went to a Saturday evening movie.
Then come Monday morning, it returns to a sleepy shopping center patronized by retirees and housewives.
Usually only us and maybe couple other people in the theater.
Wheelchairs are free admission.
The only thing that ever happened to us was the last film quit working 30 minutes into the movie and so we now have free passes for 2 movies.
Going to go see Little Fockers and True Grit.
The man with the gun was escorting the Marine's wife away from the confrontation, but some of the young thugs followed them and assaulted the wife, one punch knocked her out. At that time, judging from the narrative in the news report posted further down in thread, the man brandished his gun, and in such a case it was wholly proper to do in self-defense.
Blacks have a pack mentality and are getting worse.
We’re of the same opinion about the unacceptability of the behavior,
however, I think everyone should refrain from using terms like “primates” and gorilla references. That indicates that certain people groups are “less evolved” than others. It’s not a matter of evolution or DNA, it’s a matter of culture.
These are humans that have had their culture corrupted by liberalism since the 1950’s,
and there haven’t been enough consequences for continuing to promulgate this culture.
The young juvies will no doubt get off lightly.
Calling Al Sharpton!
Feral children on the loose?
