“What 2 consenting adults do privately is between them and god”

That is one of the first nutty ideas that the left succeeded in selling in this country. This notion serves only their agenda for destroying the family.

As we all know, lust is an extremely powerful force in human life, and it has real-world consequences—the independence of Texas, for instance.

Encouraging premarital sex has caused more adultery among us. More adultery has caused more divorce. More divorce has prevented more children from being brought up to be the kind of people who are fit for self-government. And that, in turn, has resulted in the election of large numbers of mountebanks, idiots, and utter scoundrels to public office.

A person who had been properly raised and educated in a healthy society wouldn’t hire the likes of Billy Jeff Airplane Blythe or Barry Soetoro to lick his toilets clean, much less vote for them for president.

One of the stones in the primrose path that brought us to the point that those two vile scumbags can be elected is that very notion that “What 2 consenting adults do privately is between them and god”

It occurs to me, by the way, to wonder if you wouldn’t have had enough respect to capitalize the name of God if you really believed that.

You are reading way to much into what I was saying. “What 2 consenting adults do privately is between them and god”. I wasn’t arguing the moral decay of society. We can all look around and see that occuring. I was arguing that a person has God to deal with for his/her sins and a political figure is NOT a God!!! Sorry to bust Obama’s bubble.....

This is not a communist country, people are individuals. I take my kids hunting and you may not agree with hunting. So should I not take my kids hunting because life according to you hunting is bad! I go to church on Sundays, but I am not going to lecture another adult that does not. It is none of my business what that adult does on Sundays as long as it doesn’t infringe on my rights. That is one of the problems with Society today. We are becomming a Nanny state.....

You can’t bring up that idea without introducing the moral decay of society, as most of it started right there.

Sin is not the only dimension of this issue. Sin has consequences, both spiritual and temporal. God is the arbiter of the spiritual, but it is up to us to deal with the temporal, in accordance with what God has told us of right and wrong. Even a true atheist (which excludes most of the people who call themselves atheists) could see the corrosive effects of the notion that everything is permissible, so long as you call it sexual and shield yourself from the eyes of…well, it started with “behind closed doors,” but it didn’t take long for it to become “Live Sex on Stage,” “Live Anal Sex on Stage,” and probably a bunch of other stuff I really don’t want to hear about.

Camille Paglia, whose opinion should be heard because (a) she has a dog in this fight, and (b) it would be better for her side if her opinion were mistaken, says that it is patently obvious that the percentage of men and women who suffer from same-sex attraction disorder has grown substantially and continues to rise.

One *very* big element in this is broken homes—divorce or a failure to marry in the first place. The emotional damage done by this tends to make teen-aged boys and girls more vulnerable to seduction, both hetero and homo. Sexual predators intentionally target such teens for that reason, and also because they are less likely to tell their parents about it, and it is less likely that an irate father will do them violence.

However, an even bigger element has been the notion that “What ever happens between 2 consenting adults in a bedroom is a personal matter.” When a sufficient number of Americans were browbeaten into accepting that piece of lunacy, we lost all standing to deny homosexual predators (but I repeat myself) access to our children. It is a very simple formula: homosexual male + access to boy = sore rectum and extreme psychological trauma —> increase in the percentage of homosexuals in the population.

We also lost all standing to deplore—as individuals and communities—premarital sex, adultery, and divorce. Divorce was no longer a disgrace. The social pressure on people to work problems out instead of acting like spoiled children vanished. Sexual adventurism was lauded, even though it causes higher divorce rates. Every time a never-married young person has premarital sex, that person becomes less likely to become a good spouse and parent. And that leads to…anybody? Bueller? That’s right, higher divorce rates.

All of that is harmful to the social institution of the family, which is essential for the producing of citizens who are fit for self-government, whether you are concerned with sin or not. It is a secular issue, and thus a matter for society at large to consider.

By the standards that were universally held in this country from its birth up through, to be safe, the 1930s. Not coincidentally, those are substantially the standards held by Western Civilization since the Greeks, even though often honored more in the breach. Determining the standards is no problem whatsoever. The problem is created by those who, because they want to change those standards, assert that other standards are equally valid.

They aren’t.

False dichotomy alarms are clanging from sea to shiny sea. We are not required to choose between communist tyranny and utter, amoral, chaotic anarchy. Those aren’t our only choices.

We can choose to apply the *reasonable* standards that have worked so well every time they’ve been tried, here or anywhere. A book to read on that point might be Hayek’s “The Fatal Conceit: The Intellectual Error of Socialism.”

You leapt right from my assertion of what has been a universally accepted truth since time immemorial to the accusation that I advocate 1984-style regimentation of every element of life.

That line of argumentation is often seen, but it’s a classic example of trying to be right instead of trying to find the truth.

What one should take away from the quotations above is that you have the *right* to demand that other Americans refrain from conduct that will destroy your freedoms, your constitution, and even your country—even if that conduct takes place in some kind of physical structure that prevents your observation thereof.

Destroying our country in a bedroom, or “behind closed doors,” or “in the privacy of one’s own home,” is no more defensible than destroying it right out in front of God and everybody.

For at least the last 500 years, every whacko movement (which today includes leftism in all its forms and guises), whether a cult was politically oriented, satanic, UFO nutbars, Branch Davidian, People’s Temple, whatever—all of them have had one thing in common: they promise *someone* more sex with more partners. It might be just the leaders, or just the men, or in the case of ancient temple prostitutes, heavily weighted toward a small group of women, or just everybody.

If we are becoming a nanny state—already are one, in my view—one of the causes is that the left succeeded in getting people to accept one small thing after another using promises of more sex. And, to wax unbearably repetitious, the notion that “What ever happens between 2 consenting adults in a bedroom is a personal matter” was a big part of that.

To briefly touch on the religious aspect, wherever you find the proposition that someone is going to be getting more sex with more partners, and wherever there is sodomy, there also is Satan.

So your idea about freedom only for the moral — and I agree with you in part — but if you want to extend this to homosexuals you must also extend it to heterosexuals who practice sodomy (oral sex is also sodomy) plus the FRC must exclude all Mormons from conservative meet-ups because of course, Mormons are immoral nonChristians and do not believe polygamy or violence against infidels to be a sin.

Remember, the entire letter of Jude is ABOUT heresy, false prophets and making a comparison between Satan rebelling against Heaven (not keeping to his position but wanting to be God himself),
and then this great evil is compared to homosexuality,
and then, Jude expounds on how this same evil of heretics, of those who have insinuated themselves into the love feasts of the Church, (in other words, have passed themselves off as fellow Christians) are given the full force of Jude's invective:

It is homosexual conduct that God calls an abomination. I find no remarks of His that similarly condemn acts between husband and wife.

Breathtaking. The arrogance needed to lead a person to believe that others are so vile as that and one’s self so lofty as to sit in judgment is positively stunning. (Blaspheme majesty... Speak evil of them that are in dignity; and even utter blasphemies against the divine majesty.)

Puerile nonsense. I’ve seen more sophisticated theology in a Chinese restaurant’s fortune cookies. A person can only be a heretic if he is a member of the faith that calls him so. Mormons are not Catholics, nor protestants, nor Jews. Their beliefs may be wrong, but they are not heresy with regard to any of those faiths. There is no reason that a Christian of any denomination may not make common cause with them for the accomplishment of conservative goals.

Homosexuality, on the other hand, is an abomination no matter the religious beliefs of those engaged in that behavior.

Wudja do, run by the library and try to cherry-pick some ammunition out of the book? Try reading the whole book—slowly—three or four times.

Interesting how people who try to argue that the loathsome perversions symptomatic of same-sex attraction disorder are in actuality the equal or better of actual marriage, when homosexuality is called abomination by God Himself, can never do so without resort to false moral equivalences and other logical fallacies, and always seem to be trying to “win” rather than to find the truth.

You evidently did not read the Book of Jude, the Holy Scripture that I cited for you, very well.

Jude indicates quite clearly that those who insinuate themselves into the Church, but are a false prophets/false teachers, and try to pass themselves off as Christians, are committing the same sin that Satan and his fallen angels did, as well as the homosexuals.

Mormons are of course, these same false prophets and false teachers, who try to pass themselves off as Christians, but have perverted the Gospel with their vile book of Mormon.

The Lord tells us that “the marriage bed is not to be defiled”. So you believe that sodomy is okay for married couples? Prove it with the Word.

My theology and translation are just fine, probably better than most where heresy is concerned. Mormons are heretics who are going to hell for their false beliefs. Sorry. They do not understand the concept of picking up their Cross daily, dying to self and following Him; therefore, as Jesus said, they cannot be His disciples.

As an aside, you are aware that the one thing Jesus warned us about in the latter times is “deception”... right? Particularly religious deception? i.e. Heresy?

And whom do you think the “man of sin” or the antiChrist will be? He will be someone who counterfeits Jesus. Thus you and I have a huge stake in parsing out heresy and apostasy in the church, as is discussed in the Book of Jude as well.

Finally, CPAC is a political entity, not a religious one. Conservatism has to do with politics, not the Church. The FRC and Focus on the Family and CWA are confused. If they are trying to be true Christians in banning, isolating and shunning gays, they fail, because the Apostle Paul says clearly that homosexuals were “such as you once were”.

It is our call as Christians to pray for the Lost; we are to witness the Love of God for homosexuals, not condemn them in their sin. (Even typing this out right now proves the need for proper theology on the part of Christians who make gays some sort of bogeyman, beyond the pale.)

If the FRC/Focus/CWA are trying to be true conservatives in the political realm they need to argue their case against GOProud within a political context. Remember, Jesus said “Those who are not against you, are for you.” This I believe to be the truth about GOProud.

Real Christian men are not afraid of conservative gays. Wimps like those at FRC and Focus make the Lord look insane and cruel and that Jesus, who said “My kingdom is NOT of this world” the FRC and Focus seem to think that it is there job to constitute a Christian theocracy. These people need to be tarred and feathered for their priggish faux Christianity.

As for you, you gave an eloquently broad and somewhat dated Moral Majority era indictment of the social evils of gays, fine. You have added nothing to the conversation. You don’t understand the Lord’s warning in Jude and throughout the NT about religious deception, nor do you seem aware of the most frightening portion of His warning... the strong delusion that He promises He will send on those who no longer love the Truth.

Gay or straight, this delusion is going to come on the whole world, lest we hold dear to the truth of the Gospel of His Love.

Meanwhile, gays need to be loved into the kingdom WITHOUT CONDEMNATION for their sin. I hold FRC and James Dobson personally responsible, and I believe the Lord will, too, for his antiChrist pro Mormon views and homosexual hatred.

In the context of being in the church, we are to love the sinners but hate the sins. This has nothing to do with CPAC or conservatism or the Constitution.

In the context of conservatism, we are to adhere and uphold the Constitution.

Unless GOProud strays from the Constitution, they have every right to be at CPAC.

Aw, the Bible was written in a manner that it interprets itself.

If you are having difficulty with the language in Jude, or understanding it, then cross reference other parts of the Bible that are similar until you understand what God is saying.

The meaning of the Book of Jude is very clear: he is discussing false Christians and warning that they are apostates in a terrible abomination of hell.

Sorry if equating Satan’s abomination with the apostasy of faux Christians is irksome or tiresome to you, but it’s God’s equation, not mine.

Nice declarative statements you’re making, without any evidence to back yourself up. The God of the Bible is the God of language and syntax and grammar. They are all His.

The bible is written in a manner that you can look up a word or a phrase or a symbol in one part of the Bible, and it will be used in the same manner in another part. A very good God did this, so that we would not be confused about what the Scripture is saying. Anything less than this, and the Lord becomes a tricky tormentor of freaky weirdness, a devilish entity, who does not say what He means nor means what He says.

But wait, you are an actual believer, a Christian who believes the Word of God is Eternal, correct?

I.e. “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God... and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us”? You do understand and believe this to be true, correct?

If not, my mistake.

You seem to believe that just anyone can read from the Bible just any old time and correctly understand what he read.

That is folly.

Again in my prayer time was reminded that you are incorrect in your limited assessment of the Book of Jude.

The Book of Jude warns against Apostasy in the church, i.e. phony Christians, and they are deserving of the same fate as homosexuals in Sodom in the Old Testament.

However, Jude is warning us, not about homosexuals, but about a New Testament, modern problem for Christians:

FALSE TEACHERS

FALSE PROPHETS

AND FALSE or ANTICHRISTians.

Here is but one article that clarifies your wrongheaded understanding of the Book of Jude.

Learn it well, for you and I will need discernment once the false miracles start coming. (Don’t forget that the Devil can also do supernatural feats.)
