OK … that’s just a cheap headline to get views … I think. Matthews spent his entire first segment with Clarence Page and David Corn discussing the recent push by Hawaii’s new Democrat Governor to finally get the young President’s long form birth certificate into the public domain. The idea is to end the controversy … and Matthews likes it? Yikes!
It is a little bit stunning. A poll in the NYT in April showed that 42% of the American public were not convinced Obama was born in the USA, with due respect to “The Boss”. Adding to the controversy is a story that the Governor of Hawaii wants the into out too. True.

I guess the forged fake is ready. From out of the back window of a ‘79 Pacer (to mimic the aging process) and into the hands of Obama just in time for his Hawaiian vacation. (Right on the heels of the announcement that Hil-liar-y is leaving the State Department job.)
True the Obamabots do think that keeping the birther issue alive works in their favor but Matthews and his gaggle of idiots never considered another logical answer: the birth cert confirms his US citizenship but also contains some other embarrassing info on it that the campaign wanted to keep under wraps. It’s most likely a “cover up is worse than the crime”-type thing, some fairly silly tidbit that they have to keep covering it up since they initially did so. Maybe it lists his religion as Muslim or his race as white. The most serious problem he has that I can imagine is that the cert was issues based on testimony from his grandparents rather than hospital staff. That would definitely be something he would want to hide.
Not likely. There's nothing on the long form that's not on the short form that would be embarassing.

Nope. Only the race of the parents is listed on the long form, just as on the short form.

What we are seeing now is classic Obama political kabuki theater. The Obama administration’s political operatives have made a calculated decision, probably based on focus groups, that now that there is a Democratic administration in Hawaii, there is a way to release the long form and have the Obama administration stay at arm’s length from the disclosure.
Governor Abercrombie was installed in the Governor’s mansion precisely for this purpose.
To have released the long form under the previous Republican administration in Hawaii would have looked like Obama was caving in to his political enemies.
Now the long form can be released to embarrass the birthers and Abercrombie can be the hero for facilitating the release and demonstrating “transparency,” a term that the new Governor has already used concerning the upcoming disclosure. Chris Matthews is a convenient media dupe to publicize the release of the long form.

Because it wouldn’t match the story that he was born in one of the Honolulu hospitals. Still not sure which hospital, though.

would make the problem go away. It’s so simple a solution that many people believe that Obama won’t do it because he can’t.
Personally I really don’t give a crap whether he was born here or not. He is our President. We voted him into office.<<<
Why the sudden chatter?
Maybe it’s a distraction. They can’t really talk about the economy, jobs, or ObamaCare, so they distract with this.
“O” may be native born but he cannot be natural born for several reasons, not the least of which is that according to “O” himself is father was a KENYAN!
