This guy is being held on a $4M bond because he had 2 handguns and some ammo in a storage locker?? Something doesn't make sense with this case.

It’s the state laws on guns that doesn’t make sense.

"more than 300 bullets. "

OMG. 300? More than that many 22LR can be carried in one's blue jeans' pockets without creating much of a bulge.

So what was the mystery?
Was the storage unit contents auctioned off due to lack of payments?
If so, will this be featured on one of those Discovery Channel shows?

I read about this case this morning. It made no sense; at first I thought he must have had an entire storage unit stuffed with major weaponry that he was planning on selling to a drug gang or something, but 2 handguns and a modest collection of bullets hardly sounds like something that requires $4 million bail.

However, the guy is very weird looking and spent a lot of time out of the country; his own family hadn’t seen him for years and wasn’t even sure he was alive anymore. So the only thing I can think is that this arrest is actually connected to something else (perhaps he converted to Islam during his stay in Germany or Holland and is involved with some, er, “extremists”?).

The “anti-Bloomberg” material likely made him look like an assassination threat.

300 bullets sounds like a somewhat fun day at the range. I’d prefer more.

“I wonder if New Yawk will seek the death penalty?”

Since he did not kill anyone, and is guilty of a “gun crime,” probably so.

In Mahalasville, someone with two handguns and 300 bullets is thought of as unarmed.

I loaded about 300 rnds of .223 just last night. Have enough primers and powder for about another 400. Should bring me back up to around 2k for .223.

I try to keep about a 1k for each rifle and pistol and at least 200-300 of shotshell on-hand.

And I consider myself a "moderate" collector.

James O’Donnell Jr., 39, has been held on $4 million bail since cops arrested him in the East Village in March and tied him to a cache of weapons, including two loaded pistols and more than 300 bullets.

Only a liberal New Yorker could call two handguns and 300 rounds a "cache of weapons". Hell, that's not even a good start.

You can legally possess guns and you can legally put stuff you own in storage lockers. I don’t get what they found to charge him with.
