When the CNN cameras started rolling, Rick Perry turned on his Texas tough-guy. In a dark suit and sharp red tie, the perpetually TV-ready governor launched his states' rights spiel, repeating to America why he's fed up with the federal government.

This guy puts on a pretty good act. Too bad he was a big spender in his previous tour of duty. It undercuts his credibility.
An even creepier version of Romney.
LOL! Too True. Another TexASS RINO like Kay Bailey and Cornyn. When is Texas gonna get rid of these idiots - ditto FL. Open-Border DIABLO scum!
No fan of Perry, but he plays his role well. Texas is a weak governor state, very unlike New Jersey where the government has great power.
He has got his friends in important places, and usually his friends are on the right side of issues. As for the future, conservatives had better worry more about Speraker of the House Straus, who has more power and is a liberal. To show how far left he is, his wife is a big player on Planned Parenthood.
As far as Perry goes he is a lightweight. I personally know political consultants that have been in the room with "W" and Cheney and they always referred to Rick Perry as "The Dumbass".
Go Perry! You da man!
I keep hearing what a RINO jerk Perry is but I never see any specifics.
I like the guy, what I’ve seen of him on the tube, you know, but just don’t have enough information about him to decide whether he could actually lead or if he is, as you guys indicate, just “a creepier Romney.”
I’m looking at the comment section of the article posted here and one thing is for certain: the libs hate Perry’s guts. That’s one big plus in my book.
But I’d be grateful for the real goods against him....thanks.
All you need to know are two things. One, perry tried to FORCE young Texas women to be injected with Guardasil. Second, he tried to push the biggest land theft in Texas history via the Trans-Texas Corridor.
Don’t forget we had W.Lee O’Daniels as governor. Of all the Big States, our governorship is by far the weakest.
I thought it was going to be Tony Romo...NOT!
Well, the Trans Texas might have been our Erie Canal. Suggest you read up on the history of that deal. The Clintons —George and DeWitt—were behind that, and it was strongly opposed.
Appreciate it.
That Guardasil business has always sounded bad to me, on Perry’s part I mean. But I figured he might have had some motivation toward it just ‘cause of human and bacterial disease pool spilling across your border.
In the end it sounds like the forced injections didn’t happen, right? (Don’t worry I ain’t giving Perry credit for that.)
I don’t know nuthin’ about the T-T-C. I don’t like big gov eminent domain stuff at all. Let me tell you this, however: in the past decade I’ve lived in three states and all the governors, save one, have wanted to do is Raise Taxes, Spend Money, and Propagate Wolves. And mewl like liberal pussies the whole time they were doing it.
Perry talks tough and isn’t afraid to stiff-arm reporters which is what brought him to my attention (that and his dead-eye dick schtick with the coyote). So I’m up here in the high timber trying to figure out if the dude is for real.
Thanks again.
He was and is buddies with Al Gore and Perry was Democrat. A liberal before. Perry is no Ronald Reagan.
Other posters are right, the Texas Gov. is a lightweight position. In that regard Perry is qualified to be Texas Gov.
At the end of the day Perry will be what he has been in every one of his re-election campaigns, the better of two bad choices. Perry has always been the douche bag running against the turn sandwich. No thanks, I want someone of substance, not someone like Perry who today sounds good but that is all he is, noise.
Lethargic enforcement of our borders.
-Support for the Mexican trucker pilot program.
-Attempted to force government mandated Gardasil injections for school aged young ladies.
-Perry’s pet project (Trans-Texas Corridor)which would have confiscated thousands of acres of private farm and ranch land to build a multi-billion dollar superhighway for the sole purpose of advancing the globalist agenda.
-Rick Perry's visit to the super secret Bilderburg conference in Turkey. When questioned as to the agenda or minutes of what was discussed...he skirted the question.
I think Perry will do a fine job and a good sign will be when the republicans get the budget back in order.
Rick Perry stood up to the EPA over federal control of refineries...which has caused the Left to unleash their online useful idiots on the Right against him.
Suckers!
Oh really?
We'll see how tough Rick Perry is, if and when he begins having EPA bureaucrats arrested for attempting to enforce their suppressive clean air rules on Texas industries.
Until then, it's all great sounding bluster. Talk is cheap, bud.
Dblup —see also Southack’s post 18.
And I just found this:
GOVERNOR RICK PERRY and the TEXAS ECONOMY - PART 1
Perry was elected Republican Governors Association Chairman 2011
He must have something on the ball — he is also for malpractice reform and spending cuts — read the above link.
