Brown draws ire on the right (No Money To The GOP Until The RINOs Are Gone!)

Senator Scott Brown’s decision to buck his party leadership in recent days on the “don’t ask, don’t tell’’ military policy and on a nuclear arms treaty has set off a new wave of anger among some of the activists who helped elect him — and renewed talk among conservatives that he might face a primary challenge.

Some Tea Party movement leaders who dislike Brown’s votes acknowledge that the Massachusetts Republican has demonstrated his independent and pragmatic streak, and by doing so may strengthen his chances at reelection in 2012. No primary challenger has emerged, and it is unclear whether a newcomer could wage a serious fight against Brown and his $6.8 million war chest. But the threat of a primary challenge from conservatives — as well as the potential that national Tea Party groups will withhold financial support — appears to have grown, according to the movement’s activists. Brown’s votes in the past week follow his crucial support for the overhaul of financial regulations, which remains a particular sore point with conservatives. “I think that there will be a primary challenge,’’ said Christen Varley, president of the Greater Boston Tea Party. “There’s enough of an underground movement in the Tea Party movement as seeing him as not being conservative enough. There probably will be multiple people who attempt to run against him.’’

Conservatism will never get a chance as long as we keep letting “Moderates” get in our way.

Well, actually neither McCain nor Lindsey were ever Democrats.

Did you realize there are people who voted for START under the impression the new incoming House would not vote for any of the implementing legislation ~ which includes billions of bucks of upgrades to existing facilities in Tennessee, or the construction of even more expensive facilities elsewhere.

The way to stop Start is in the House.

Give your Senator a backbone next time by writing to your Congresscritters and demanding the House NOT finance START.

Don’t count on it with Coakley. That ol’gal’d just as soon kill you as to look at you. She’s today’s “New Democrat Man” ~ a total sociopathic personality type ~ prefers dead to live babies every time ~ just another Kathleen Sebelius if you ask me ~ we did not need her around.

“Moderates” in Mass and Maine do not get in our way. How about a little incrementalism and a longer term strategy to ween New England off of liberalism? They are not going cold-turkey to Conservatism. If they grow to like Brown over a term or two, maybe the next Republican nominated in a decade or so can be more conservative and we get what we want. At least we are getting 60% or so support out of him.

Again, the problem is moderates from Red states. That should be the focus for the Tea party.

Yeah, it makes a difference when it comes to committee assignments, control of the legislative agenda, that sort of thing.

When you vote for the Democrat what you do is give all that other Democrat agenda nonsense a public platform.

Yes, but at this very second that's impossible.

Problem is McConnell is NO leader. Where was the stall of this 11th hour legislation that he'd promised?

Give your Senator a backbone next time by writing to your Congresscritters and demanding the House NOT finance START.

If they lack backbone by now, they're never getting it. Can't fix corruption or transplant principle. WE were screwed.

By trying to please everyone, Brown has pleased no one, but instead has pissed off everyone.

I supported Brown financially, knowing he was not a true conservative. However, I will not support him again now that he has proved it. I suspect most conservatives feel the same way, and that the national tidal wave of conservative support for Brown will fail to materialize for him in 2012.

I would imagine much of the excitement about him has worn off in Massachusetts and that the naturally dominate forces of Marxism in that state have regrouped and will resoundingly defeat Brown in two years. Most likely Brown is a flash in the pan, similar to the aberration of dozens of one-term Congressional Marxists that were swept in on Obama’s coattails in 2008, and then swept back out in 2010, though in Brown’s case the reverse process is at work.

In the future I’ll concentrate my contributions on those good conservatives that look like they can win elections. No more support from me for RINOS like Brown, and no more support from me for badly selected “Tea Party” candidates that do not have the brains or discipline to win elections.

? When did McConnell become a Representative?

There's no money for all the things START requires. That's the first bit of waste to crush.

I don’t recall Brown ever being a Democrat either.

This isn't about Coakley, this is about tossing away RINO aka Dem trash aka Brown that's been masquerading as ANY kind of principled savior.

Reject RINOs and let the patient die. THEN a conservative or pseudo-conservative may finally win the day in MA.

When he became a US Senator and "leader" who promised to filibuster and stall all the crap that's just gone down.

I'm not impressed with Boehner's degree of blowback fight either.

There's no money for all the things START requires. That's the first bit of waste to crush.

No money?? That's why we have a printing press!

Do all those crumbs really add up to "60%"??

On everything crucial to the country, the whore Brown has voted 100% with the Dems.

In a zero sum game like an election you can't just walk away ~ no matter what you do you make a choice. The winner is usually a consequence of your choice.

Coakley was the other outcome ~ she lost. Brown may or may not be a Conservative, or even a normal guy, but Coakley is best gone. We beat one of her kind down here in next door Maryland ~ a KENNEDY FAMILY MEMBER EVEN known as Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. Busted her right down in 2003 and that was the end of her career and that of every other Kennedy Democrat in that state, or elsewhere EXCEPT Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Even with Brown serving a day we got rid of Coakley ~ and there'll never be a Senator Coakley in the history of the nation.

Now, we might have to hang on a bit to toss Ted Kennedy's widow ~ but it can be done. I doubt opposing Brown only to get a Kennedyis a good deal anywhere.

Actually, that's a sick idea!

Two thoughts......

"This is the best we can ever hope for..." is not in the vocabulary of some of us.

Remember when the original thirteen colonies, including Massachusetts, were referred to as the "Cradle of Liberty"?

The vote for cloture won. Once that happens you can no longer filibuster.

What is it you are talking about? Did you perhaps want McConnell to come in with a suicide belt and blow up the Senate or what?

Amen, Amen, Amen!!! It isn't about MA; it's about RINOs in all 50 states. Lugar, Graham, etc. - purge them all!

people donated to Brown because he was going for the "kennedy" seat and Coakley would have been a lock step democrat per usual...

no one thought Brown was to the core conservative...he provides more strength for the pubs in the Senate and is a well spoken, good looking man with military experience...he opposed obamacare....

compare him to Joe Miller..who I gave several donations...is it better to have a good man, with some conservative ideas get elected than to have a good man, with solid conservatives NOT get elected?....

What's better? A flaming liberal Democrat senator from Massachusetts? or a RINO? I'll take the RINO over the flaming lib any day. I'd LOVE to have a RINO represent me, a Californian, instead of the ultra-leftist Barbara Boxer.

Having said that, I do prefer a genuine conservative over a RINO. But sometimes, the RINO is the best voters in certain regions can get. For example, if a RINO had a real opportunity to beat Nancy Pelosi in her district, should republicans support him? You bet.

I understand the revulsion. The RNC has been playing too many games and lowering minimal standards. Recall the Scozzafava debacle in NY? And why hadn't they punished Murkowski?

The GOP is trending badly in the US Senate. Philosophically. Even Mitch Daniels of ID suggested removing "social issues" from the GOP platform - without a peep from RNC leadership.

The RINC/GOP is still controlled by the Rockefeller elites. As long as they are, they will remain much of the problem, saboteurs of conservative candidates, and enablers of RINO candidates.

I'd prefer he left his pink petticoat and heels in his closet.

Meanwhile, Harry Reid IS blustering like a rabid Democratic Patton threatening holy hell. THAT'S "leadership." Not McConnell.
