Senator Scott Browns decision to buck his party leadership in recent days on the dont ask, dont tell military policy and on a nuclear arms treaty has set off a new wave of anger among some of the activists who helped elect him and renewed talk among conservatives that he might face a primary challenge.
Some Tea Party movement leaders who dislike Browns votes acknowledge that the Massachusetts Republican has demonstrated his independent and pragmatic streak, and by doing so may strengthen his chances at reelection in 2012. No primary challenger has emerged, and it is unclear whether a newcomer could wage a serious fight against Brown and his $6.8 million war chest. But the threat of a primary challenge from conservatives as well as the potential that national Tea Party groups will withhold financial support appears to have grown, according to the movements activists. Browns votes in the past week follow his crucial support for the overhaul of financial regulations, which remains a particular sore point with conservatives. I think that there will be a primary challenge, said Christen Varley, president of the Greater Boston Tea Party. Theres enough of an underground movement in the Tea Party movement as seeing him as not being conservative enough. There probably will be multiple people who attempt to run against him.

Most people with a brain knew he was a RINO before he was elected. He was just the best of the available choices. Now people are going to be angry at the RINO? And what Massachusetts Republican is going to be elected in his place? [I’d love to see Massachusetts come to the light. Maybe with the Kennedys gone it could happen?]
Bielat was very vocal in his opposition to Snot's support for the BS banking overhaul bill and Snot repaid him by withholding his “most popular politician in MA” support until the last seconds of the campaign.
What a team player Brown is. Just don't stand in between him and the opening of a restaurant.
Don’t fall in love with a politician, they will disappoint you every time.
“leave us with a filibusterable Senate”
NFL, POS Reid and a host of RINOs are moving to remove that avenue right after the first of the year.
Look for Scott Brown-Kennedy and Moaning Lisa Murkowski to deflect to the Rat side after the new year...
Good riddance to them— particularly Snowe, just because she’s been there so long. I keep remembering people at this site posting “Brown for president” over and over when he was elected.
Scott Brown is the best you’re gonna get out of that liberal sh-thole.New England states have been a write-off for at least two generations.
No one expected Brown to be a liberal Democrat - or did YOU?
I called Collins Office last week and asked, “why does she call herself a Republican?” Her offices response was, “she votes with the Republicans 70% of the time”. I busted out laughing and told the office worker “get real, I wasn’t born yesterday”.
..and right they should do so..his purpose was 'finished' the day he left for Washington...and we all knew it would be so.
There might be another Republican there, but not likely.
This time we were boosting the chances of a candidate who wasn't a murderer like Kennedy or wannabee like Coakley.
The conditions in that state are unique.
Brown is a Democratic turd that needs to be flushed all the way back to Massa2shits. Unfortunately Brown could be bought by Odumbo for a price - 30 pieces of silver. I strongly believe as the bills that were passed there will be deals that will become apparent in the fine details, Collins, Snowe, Brown Voinovich (may be retired but he has probably received a swwet heart deal), the same with Bennett, and many of the others that endorsed the Odumbo Crapshoot. hey RINO vote for the Odumbo Crapshoot and I Odumbo promise to give you a chicken in every pot and 2 cars in every garage that is in every property you own throughout the US. By they way Odumbo probably gave them properties in other states too.
Go to a lot of blogs and you notice people saying over and over again that there is no real difference between Republicans and Democrats. This is the real problem with the RINO’s. They fog up the conservative message that Republicans need to bring. It is no wonder that people are confused as to what Republicans believe when there are at least 8 Republican Senators who have hardly any conservative thoughts.
This is why we need to remove the RINO’s. Yes, there will be an immediate price to pay. But long term, the Republicans have to stand for something. And they have to walk the walk as well as talk the talk.
Good bye Lindsay Graham.
I’m not glad. He has sided with the Rats on almost every vote. I would rather have a Democrat admitting they are a Lib than a Republican pretending to be Moderate when it’s obvious they are a Lib.
There’s too many Conservatives ready stop the weeding out process in fear they lose the tiny crumbs the “Moderates” give them.
Don’t forget to include MurCOWski. She not only must go, she must be stripped of any leadership position.
I will support his primary challenger, and I will not vote in the general if Brown is the GOP nominee.
I will no longer enable RINOism. The Republican establishment lost me in 2010.
