Oh please! Definitely a waste of money, but put your tin foil hat away.

A fella could have a real good time with a grappling hook and a 4 wheel drive truck...

We have these things all over Fort Worth Texas.
It does help stop the break in crooks from getting their Xmas gifts.
They also put them in Hospital parking lots.
Much ado about nothing.
Don’t like?
Don’t go to walmart. The things are stationary best I can tell/S. Plus if their motorized they would have a limited top speed/S.

Heck these “towers” are all over Texas in parking lots, senior centers and any place that crooks strike. They often break a chain of car burglars and move them to other locations. WE LOVE THEM. Gee one of these towers can watch 3 or 4 stores - pretty good use of one officer, plus who knows if there is even someone inside?

They have been doing this for years, its called security. Do you now how often people get robbed in these big parking lots? Or the cars get broken into?

The mall and other places do that here to deter crooks. The windows are dark so you can’t tell if its manned or not at that particular time.

Prison guard tower - aren’t guard towers used to keep the people inside from escaping?

Is this called “making a mountain out of a mole hill? It might dissuade a thief from stealing from or the whole car...might.

OH!

And here I thought that this thread was about WalMart SELLING these towers, not using them.

We had a K-Mart that was going to close due to high rate of shoplifting. They need one of these.

Desensitizing the public!

Trust! Do you trust the government?

Do you trust the military and our law enforcement people to uphold their oaths to defend the Constitution against domestic enemies? Or...Do you think their paychecks and pensions will be more important to them?

It doesn’t shock me that this would be in North Carolina. It’s a complete police state here.We jokingly call it “Police State, Rise of FEMA”. I live in a small town and police are everywhere (marked and unmarked) laying in wait looking for milk cows to pull over. I was driving down a country road the other day and a cop and his partner were pulled over on a side street. They were out of the car and the bigger cop had his radar gun pointing at the cars driving by. He was postured as though he was holding a real gun. I had never seen anything like it. When I told my husband he said he had the same thing happen to him the other day in the school zone up the road. Revenue collectors. Meanwhile, drug dealers and gangs run rampant. Needless to say, I can’t wait to get the hell out of here.

No problem, if they nail the shoplifters, car clouters, muggers, armed robbers, dope peddlers, rapists, kidnappers, and child molesters.

Big problem if they can only see parking, bike helmet, and seat belt "violations".

Unfortunately there is no power that government has not, and will not abuse.

We’ve had these for around 6 or 7 years in my area. They come out whenever there are bigger than normal crowds such as during holiday shopping. It helps the cops spot the bad guys hanging around in the mall parking lot.

Oh good grief! My husband built one of these years ago into the bed of his p/u truck for a deer hunting device. His nephews expanded his idea it into a small business, building them onto trailers that can be hauled into the pasture and left for hunting. They live in Ft Worth and I don’t know if the business has been expanded into security or not, I know that it was discussed.

Considering it is a Wal-Mart I’m not overly concerned. They have cameras everywhere including their parking lots.

Might catch a mullet or femullet...

I saw one of those mobile towers set up in a strip
mall parking lot in Mira Mesa at Black Mountain
Road and Mira Mesa Blvd last week, It was a “what the
Hell” moment. It was deployed and apparently
to a “dually” style pickup. Painted white with dark
tinted windows.

So... I wonder how much WALMART would sell these GUARD TOWERS to the U.S. for?

We could place them all along the border, and build walls made out of that toxic wall board (also purchased from Walmart) between the TOWERS.

Since it’s my idea, I want a 1% commission fee from the sales.
