An airline pilot is being disciplined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for posting video on YouTube pointing out what he believes are serious flaws in airport security.

I find it interesting that the pilot’s union can’t help him here. Oops, the union only protects you when you do something blatantly incompetent or dangerous. When you do something to make the bosses or agency look bad, you’re SOL.
Drip, drip, drip.........then what?
The fed is clearly over reaching day in and day out.
How much more will We The People tolerate?
Well that explains why every time I see TSA my mind reads it as Stasi
They searched the guys friggin’ house!!
Surprised they didn’t plant something.
What the hell did they think they would find.
Just intimidation. Next guy who sees something will be less eager to say so.
Dicktaters have a way.
If Julian Assange had released it they would be fawning all over him.
Will this pilot’s efforts/sacrifice result in anything positive for airport security? Where’s the ALCU or like civil libertiis advocates?
This man may well have saved lives. I thank him for his bravery and sense of honor.
They also confiscated his California CCW permit.
Anyone wanna tell me now how foolish I am for refusing to apply for a CCW?
Unnecessary papers that the MAN/BigSis can use against you.
Totalitarian SOB’s
She’s a real harpie of a ghoul.
Case study in how to take a minor annoyance and make it HIT THE BIG TIME IN A BUG WAY. Way to go idiots, speaking of every dang official and officer involved in this.
Yup, strictly Bush league.
I think it’s wrong to publicize a systematic analysis of security flaws of a sensitive place.
Even if his analysis is wrong, do we want insiders to reveal vulnerabilities to YouTube audiences?
With military systems and some locations, revealing exploitable vulnerabilities is a no-no. Usually Top Secret or more.
If he had real concerns, there are ways to address them without showing people how best to have a Sudden Jihad Moment, or even how best to steal luggage or smuggle cash or securities.
As for losing his CCW and flight deck gun, someone might have imagined that someone using a camera to document vulnerabilities and security flaws at an airport could be a security threat. If this were an ROP member who did the video, many would agree that it’s a threat- but there are other people who might case a location to help plan some unpleasant event.
I agree. Hey, everybody, don’t look over here!
ever notice when you’re whistle-blower nobody wants to listen about their incompetence. I have a feeling this guy tried to go through normal channels and got nowhere because the incompetent boobs he tried to warn would’ve been outed in the process...
YMMV
Everyone already knows that there is a HUGE hole in security where a person with access to baggage or the airplanes can easily sneak someone or something onto the airplane. Hell, a 16 year old boy managed to stow away on an airplane in Virginia and NOBODY saw him. They just found his body along the flight path near the airport in Massachusetts and figured out what he did.
