Over the last couple months I have been bringing books, two sackfuls at a time to Maxwells House Of Books in exchange for store credit. So far, my schlepping of about 70 books has yielded a credit of $38. Yesterday I gobbled up twenty of it so I could own a copy of Duncan L. Hunters new book, Victory In Iraq: How America Won. Why? Because thats a great title and because Hunter was going to be in La Mesa, at Maxwells signing copies. The photo above shows Hunter signing my actual book. After he signed it we chatted for a minute or two and then I was going to be more or less on my way.
I scanned book titles as I slowly walked towards the door when a woman noticed my camera, which lead to a brief conversation that ended with her saying what a great photo op this is since the congressman and Chuck Yeager are here. Yeah, it sure is, I replied. Were very lucky to have Wait. What?!?
Chuck Yeager, the first human being on the planet to travel faster than the speed of sound, the most famous aviator in the world for over 60 years is in this bookstore right now? What? Turns out, Chuck Yeager and Duncan L. Hunter are old friends so General Yeager

Duncan Hunter was my rep when I lived in El Cajon and Darrell Issa was my rep when I lived in Oceanside. Love them both, but especially Duncan Hunter. He would have been a superlative president. What an honor for you...an early Christmas present for sure!
Cool. Hunter should be our POTUS.
That story is not mine. It’s from some random blogger. Though I have met Mr. Hunter a couple of times.
Remember the clown who claimed Chuck Yeager was a cross dresser? LOL

It’s not the same one who keeps telling us Hunter is under investigation by the FBI, was it?
He would have manhandled Obama in a debate.
Why is a blog in the news section?
Probably. I believe it was a Romneybot.
Slow news day?
I met Chuck Yeager in 1982 at Peterson AFB, CO. He’s an incredible American.
Alas, he ain’t going for it this time. SecDef though, I hope.
He'd be a fine President. If not, he should be on any conservative President's short list for SecDef.
Ditto here.
Hey Pissant, if Palin stated Hunter would be her top choice for VP or SecDef, would you think differently about her?
Like he manhandled McCain, Romney, Huckabee, Guiliani, Ron Paul, Brownback and Tancredo in the debates?
Hunter's debating skills are what took him to the top of the polls. lol.
Actually he did manhandle them in the debates. I just wasn’t one of the pathetic morons who thought it was cool the way the rest of them could evade answers. At least he was man enough to give answers.
While everybody else was crying about CNN trapping them, Hunter was sending out letters asking for more hostile questions.
