AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

The man has had, what?, over 20 years to make a national name for himself. And he still doesn't have any visibility outside his district. Sure he has sponsored a lot of interesting military legislation, but I'm not sure what percentage of his activity has actually been enacted. Quite frankly he does have some baggage related to pushing procurements not wanted by the DOD that would benefit his constituents. I think it got worse when he was name chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. In the final analysis there just hasn't been anything outstanding about his political career.

I have no problem with that...it’s when people become so focused on one person, whether it’s Palin/Huckabee/Hunter/Pence/???? that they refuse to acknowledge someone else including those mentioned who aren’t their first choice, can do a good job too. Now, I’ll not ever say I think Huckabee can do a good job; but I like Sarah, and I’m open to anyone else, too, who meets my standards. It seems like there are some people, who refuse to see the potential flaws in their candidate, but are insistant in pointing out the flaws in everyone else. We won’t win with a purity test, and we won’t win by pouting. Instead of trying to tear someone down, as seems to be the case, and refusing to consider anyone but X won’t get conservatism advanced any quicker or a conservative message out any clearer.

I honestly don’t know a terrible lot about him, except what I’ve read on FreeRepublic. It’s rare that a Congressman (not Senator) rises to the office of the President, because many Congressman have great appeal inside their district and 0 appeal everywhere else. The problem I have with him is his endorsement of (p)hucakbee. That’s something that crosses into unforgiveable territory for me. I’ve not spent much time learning about him because even if he does decide to run, by the time the primaries reach Kentucky, he won’t be around. He and (p)huckabee seem to have a similar problem when it comes to raising $$, and reality is, you need money to run a successful campaign.

I am supporting Palin, obviously but I am not “offended” if someone wants to support Huckabee, Romney, etc. If Palin fails to garner the nomination, we may well end up with Romney, then what? I swore last time I would never vote for McCain and then I voted for McCain. My strategy now is to back my candidate to the fullest and live with the results.

Amen! I support Palin; but I’m not going to spend my time talking down all the other candidates. I do have a line in the sand that I won’t cross; but the likelihood of it coming to that is very small.

BTW - reading your tagline - did you see the hysterical article posted earlier by someone about how Sarah has never encouraged her kids to go to college? lol.

Yes, I did! I had to laugh at the incoherent ramblings of that “educated” fool. I only have a high school education and I couldn’t wait to get out of there but I’d stack my intellect against a lot of college graduates. It isn’t how much education someone has but what they do with it.

I loved when Steyn started on that stupid “Coexist” symbol with the gay symbol next to the Muslim crescent and how nobody seems to have thought this through. It reminded me of that old Woody Allen line, “The lion may lie down with the lamb, but the lamb won’t be getting much sleep.”

Case in point - Rush Limbaugh. He’s very successful, yet no college degree.

College is a waste for most people. Peruse Facebook photo albums of the college kids you know...Not a lot of “book learnin’” going on there.

The sad thing is that many people quit reading books once they finish formal education. They quit growing. The best thing to learn early on in school is the ability to read and comprehend. If a person can master reading, education becomes a lifelong pursuit. However, all the book learning is useless if it isn’t applied to building life experiences.

I love the educational setting; I love being inside the classroom and having intelligent discussions about readings...however, from my experience, that rarely happened INSIDE a college classroom. It was the smaller, study groups that met independent of class, without a teacher, that, imho, provided me with more education/information than the majority of my classes.

No doubt, the quality of education has suffered these past decades. I hope there are more people with your attitude.
