A recent court ruling on wolves in the northern Rockies should help guide another judge who will decide on federal protection for a mouse species in Colorado and Wyoming, environmental groups argue.
A cattlemen's group says the judge should decide for himself about the Preble's meadow jumping mouse, a critter about the size of other mice but with a 6-inch tail and the ability to leap up to 3 feet to escape predators...There is no surprise in environmentalists linking the mouse and wolf cases, said Jim Magagna, executive vice president of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association.

A mouse is a mouse whether it's in Preble's meadow or running across the front of the podium in the Rose Garden. Geeesh!
Biodiversity Conservation Alliance filed suit over the Preble’s mouse ...
There’s no group that makes my blood boil more than environmentalists, why is that?
“federal protection for a mouse species in Colorado and Wyoming”
Just insane.
It's because they're traitors -- in this case, traitors to the advancement of humanity.
There is nothing more despicable.
Thanks for the ping, George!
Whether its a ‘Preble’s meadow jumping mouse’ or a doormouse, its still just...A mouse. A nasty, disease carrying rodent.
The Preble’s mouse can be found along the Colorado Front Range and into southeast Wyoming, where cattle ranchers, wind energy developers and others have a keen interest in the case.
Well said!
The lawyers and Communists are all excited because of the U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy in Missoula, Montana
I sense that those who cherish liberty and freedom have had about enough of the left's replacing God with government.
In every policy, they have taken the position of God and ownership of that which is given by God. They believe all money derived from our labor is theirs to distribute as they see fit. All rights are theirs to bestow as they see fit. Even our bodies through Obama care or pat-downs are under their rule.
It's the reason they tax an estate upon death. They are simply exercising their claim to "their" money. They believe it's their air, food, energy, company or house. It's not your land, really. They might find some kind of mouse or minnow on it and deem it's theirs to give to another creature.(as long as it's not human)
Again, I'm thankful for the spirit of optimism we as a nation have. However, I sense folks such as us have had about enough. We may not be looking for a fight, but when one starts getting punched in the nose, whether you want it or not, your in a fight that has started even if you weren't told.
What if an endangered predator is preying on an endangered animal?
Possibly the worst aspect of any legislation was granting standing for environmental groups. Environmental laws give standing to environmental groups, essentially making environmental groups the fifth branch of government (after trial lawyers). This aspect of environmental law should be controversial but I do not know of any legislator proposing to change environmental laws.
Conservatives cannot win on environmental law. Even if conservatives control government, the EPA establishment and environmentalists still set environmental policy. Democrats cannot lose on environmental policies. They can always count on environmental groups for large campaign spending and lawsuits to inhibit development. Even after dealing with the myriad of environmental laws and regulations, developers must the engage environmentalists and courts.
We cannot afford environmental stangulation of the economy. Groups without any stake in the outcome are controlling a large part of the economy. This situation is a recipe for economic decline.
That's when you get out the popcorn and watch the environmentalists fight amongst themselves.
Great post.
The enviro nazis are used to making fools of themselves, any means to an end suits them fine.
Judge Molloy has basically made a fool of himself by supporting the enviro nazis, of which he could be one, on most every issue. Now the enviro nazis will cite his ruling to place everything from a mouse to grizzlies and everything in between on the ESL.
A science fiction writer from the early 20th century just couldn’t make stuff like this up in his wildest dreams.
The ruling is simply bad wildlife management.
a recipe for economic decline.
But is there any way to legally fight back, without, of course, risking bankruptcy?
