If the Russians bomb these GOP senators, they will have earned it!

While on balance I think this is a bad thing, I think it’s impact is somewhat overstated.

We still will have 1550 nukes, more than enough to do damage. Besides, does any Freeper ever believe we’d actually use even 1 nuclear weapon? Ever? I don’t. Only unless we were nuked first, even then it’d be iffy. I doubt for example that Obama would nuke anyone, even if they nuked us first.

The bigger issue imho is that we don’t even know if any of our nukes still work. We haven’t tested any in 20 yrs. They’re just sitting around. I think it’s way more important to make sure what we have still works then worrying about getting rid of a few hundred.

It’s not 1985 anymore. Russian ICBMs aren’t our biggest threat. This treaty has no effect at all when it comes to going after AQ or other jihadists. Good or bad. Maybe Russia will be more cooperative against Iran after this passes. I doubt it, but who knows?

In any event, this isn’t really an issue that the public cares about one way or the other.(Just as they never cared about missile defense when W pushed it). There are many other areas in defense/natl secuirty where Obama is vulnerable. I’d focus on those if I were the GOP

They didn’t just cave. They helped write the New START ratification legislation and a few are co-sponsors!

They caved? That implies that they were against it at some point. Traitors!

Russia to develop new heavy ICBM by 2020

"Heavy ICBM" refers to a class of missiles with a heavy throw weight between five and nine metric tons and a length of over 35 meters, capable of delivering a large number of warheads in a single MIRV missile.

It has become abundantly clear that these Republicans didn’t get We The People’s message on November 2nd. Call them 24/7 until they do get our message on this issue. Perhaps they need to be told emphatically that they will be voted out when they come up for re-election. Arrogance doesn’t become them nor does their quest for power at our nation’s expense.

Is there any chance some voted for cloture so that they could kill i right away, once and for all? If there are less than 67 for passage, and I was sure of it.....THAT IS the path I WOULD RECOMMEND.

This deal is for Russia which is why the Imam Obama
(their agent) pushes it.

No verification. No reciprocity.

No wonder the RINOs and DNC love this so much.

So the US will be legally limited any missile defense ABMs, held to 1550 warheads as minimal limited deterrence (isn’t “minimum” deterrence riding the ragged edge of not enough to deter? Isn’t that contradictory?), and the US isn’t producing any new warheads or missiles even though most are aged and troubled and of questionable reliability like the W-76, which makes up a large proportion of our stockpile. Also, the only tactical nuclear weapons the US has is a few hundred old fashioned gravity B-61 bombs that require a bomber or fighter to fly over the target.

The Russians still have more strategic weapons, and are deploying new SSBNs with MIRVS, started working on a new heavy ICBM with a high number of MIRVS probably, producing new warheads, massive 5 or even ten to one superiority in tactical nuclear warheads in the most modern systems in the world, equal in strategic bombers, but vastly superior in medium to long range Backfire bombers (with the removable in flight refueling probe which makes it long range) which have no US equal.

And Russia has had a missile defense, both official and unofficial in their SAM/ABMs which number in the thousands and are being upgraded with the S-400 and soon after the S-500 which have an advertised capability against ICBMs.

And what exactly is happening in Yamantau mountain, with the heavy train tracks leading into a nuclear hardened bunker larger than anything we ever built underground? And isn’t it interesting that the treaty doesn’t count train mobile ICBMs?

If we sign this treaty we deserve exactly what we get. We are too stupid to live.

Obama sent a letter to Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell on Saturday assuring him that we "will continue to develop and deploy effective missile defenses to protect the United States."

I feel so much better!
