Strategy: The heirs of Ronald Reagan abandon his legacy and dream of defending America from nuclear attack. Our security will rest on ambiguous language and vague assurances, not on the genius of U.S. technology.
Peace in our time, or should we say appeasement in our time, as a sufficient number of GOP senators signed on the New START treaty to give the Democrats and President Obama the 67 votes needed for ratification.
The Hill reported that Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., became the 10th Republican to support the treaty on Monday. Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass., was No. 9, saying on Monday afternoon, "I believe it's something important for our country and I believe it's a good move forward."
Outgoing Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, says he supports the treaty as does another lame duck, Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Ohio, who said a letter from President Obama brought him on board.
Obama sent a letter to Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell on Saturday assuring him that we "will continue to develop and deploy effective missile defenses to protect the United States."
That letter needs to be sent to Medvedev and Putin, not to the U.S. Senate, for that is not the Russian understanding. "Russia will have the right to opt out of the treaty if ... the U.S. strategic missile defense begins to significantly affect the efficiency of Russian strategic nuclear forces," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on April 6.

This deal is for Russia which is why the Imam Obama
(their agent) pushes it.
No verification. No reciprocity.
No wonder the RINOs and DNC love this so much.

You raise a good point, we will have to see.
The final vote will tell us whether our Republican leadership in the Congress is effective. And, at this moment, I fear the worse.
Our nation is in a struggle for control of our government and it seems only the socialist/fascists know that.
If New START is passed by virtue of RINO votes, the leadership ought to ban those RINO’s from any committee chairs and plush assignments, in essence, ostracize them.
So the US will be legally limited any missile defense ABMs, held to 1550 warheads as minimal limited deterrence (isn’t “minimum” deterrence riding the ragged edge of not enough to deter? Isn’t that contradictory?), and the US isn’t producing any new warheads or missiles even though most are aged and troubled and of questionable reliability like the W-76, which makes up a large proportion of our stockpile. Also, the only tactical nuclear weapons the US has is a few hundred old fashioned gravity B-61 bombs that require a bomber or fighter to fly over the target.
The Russians still have more strategic weapons, and are deploying new SSBNs with MIRVS, started working on a new heavy ICBM with a high number of MIRVS probably, producing new warheads, massive 5 or even ten to one superiority in tactical nuclear warheads in the most modern systems in the world, equal in strategic bombers, but vastly superior in medium to long range Backfire bombers (with the removable in flight refueling probe which makes it long range) which have no US equal.
And Russia has had a missile defense, both official and unofficial in their SAM/ABMs which number in the thousands and are being upgraded with the S-400 and soon after the S-500 which have an advertised capability against ICBMs.
And what exactly is happening in Yamantau mountain, with the heavy train tracks leading into a nuclear hardened bunker larger than anything we ever built underground? And isn’t it interesting that the treaty doesn’t count train mobile ICBMs?
If we sign this treaty we deserve exactly what we get. We are too stupid to live.
Can someone explain the below articles and how they are in our best interest:
Article V
3. Each Party shall not convert and shall not use ICBM launchers and SLBM launchers for placement of missile defense interceptors therein. Each Party further shall not convert and shall not use launchers of missile defense interceptors for placement of ICBMs and SLBMs therein.
Article XI11
To ensure the viability and effectiveness of this Treaty, each Party shall not assume any international obligations or undertakings that would conflict with its provisions. The Parties shall not transfer strategic offensive arms subject to this Treaty to third parties. This provision shall not apply to ICBM launchers that were converted prior to signature of this Treaty for placement of missile defense
interceptors therein
Say what?
“Primary them and get rid of them.”
That’s the best way to get our national security back on track.
Everyone needs to contact their Senators now and tell them to Vote NO!!!

This is the largest embarrassment. Thankfully we will be spared a Castle (R-NH) in the RINO brigade over and over for the next 6 years. But Murkowski, this is McConnell's and the reason why he and Cornyn must be primaried and replaced.
I feel so much better!
