President Obama Governs as Bush 44

Once upon a time in America, when George W. Bush served as America's 43rd president, Democrats criticized the Bush tax cuts, especially for the wealthy. This month, President Obama called a measure extending all the Bush tax rates "a win for our economy" -- after excoriating liberal critics of his compromise tax package as "sanctimonious."

Once upon a time, Democrats trashed Bush for pushing tax cuts during a time of war, and Democrats slammed Bush for not demanding that Americans sacrifice to win the war on terror. This month, while U.S. troops serve in Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama added more tax cuts to the Bush mix.

Once upon a time, Democratic candidates promised that if they won the White House, they would shutter Guantanamo Bay, then referred to as a "recruiting tool for al-Qaida." In January 2009, Obama signed an executive order to close the detention center within a year. Today it's still open.

Once upon a time, Democrats argued that if they were in charge, Washington would pass "comprehensive immigration reform." Candidate Obama promised to make passage of an immigration bill a top priority during his first year in office.

For two years, the Dems ran the White House, the House and the Senate -- and a bill never passed because they never really pushed it. Clearly, the leadership figured out that immigration is an issue that works best for them if left hanging.

Once upon a time, Democrats used Bush's poor poll numbers as proof that he was a bumbling dolt who couldn't manage the economy. Now, they use Obama's poor poll numbers as proof that Bush was a bumbling dolt who couldn't manage the economy.

Forget the Gallup poll that shows Congress with its lowest approval rating ever -- 13 percent. Chalk that stat up to anti-incumbent fever.

Just two years ago, the Dems would boast that if they ran U.S. foreign policy, there'd be lots of smart dialogue and the world's tin-pot dictators would respect the U.S. president. How's that working in Iran and North Korea?

The Democrats used to say that universal health care would be cheaper. That was before SEIU 1199 announced it would drop dependents' health care coverage in part because of the "Obamacare" requirement that plans cover members' children up to age 26.

Once upon a time, Obama told America that if he were president, he would focus on winning in Afghanistan and thus prevail in the war on terrorism. Sunday on "Meet the Press," Vice President Joe Biden declared, "We're going to be totally out of there come hell or high water by 2014."

Monday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was forced to do a what-the-vice-president-meant-to-say clarification as he explained that 2014 would bring an end to the U.S. "combat commitment in Afghanistan."

Candidate Barack Obama had a grand time slamming the same Bush policies that he now maintains. And when the criticism gets too nasty, no worries: He always has golf.

Supporting homosexuals in the military.
Weakening our military.
Socialized medicine.
Screwing the economy.
Giving away the store to the Russians.

He doesn't really seem Bush-like to me. Perhaps Bush was no prize, but he wasn't like this.

I agree with you 100% on the first 5 points. However I disagree with you on the last point. President Bush was 1000% better then the arrogant pos that currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Isn’t she the so-called “conservative” who also thinks we should stop “whining” about being molested at the airport?
She’s nuts.

Bush was a bit of a progressive, but I never looked at him as the enemy to the country Obummer is governing like. This lady is cherry picking a few pieces of legislation Obummer is forced to be on Bush’s side on. If this Marxist could swing it and his polls were not in the mid 30’s, he would do it his way.

I hold supposedly conservative authors to a high standard, so this article is down right inept.

While Bush had faults, he's a freaking giant compared to the incompetent one now in the WH.

Two President's I just as soon forget about.

Obama is the most destructive president in US history. He continues to undermine traditional American values and beliefs, as he tramples on the Constitution and dismantles our Republic. OTOH, Bush was a big disappointment on many issues. His leadership was frustrating, polarizing and at times incompetent. Sadly, Bush opened the door for Obama becoming potus.

America hasn't had a good leader in the WH in over 20 years. And from the look of things, its doubtful 2012 will bring the change needed to set America back on course.

Please don’t give liberals what they want by referring to them as “progressives”. They are dirty, filthy liberals and deserve the brush we paint them with.

The only question I have is:

Will the media badger us with deriding references to the “obama” tax cuts now?

Transparent attempt by the democrat media publicists trying to get rid of the accurate Socialist/Marxist label and agenda of Hussein. Expect it to continue non-stop for 2 years.

“...President Obama Governs as Bush 44...”

He doesn’t “govern” at ALL.

He leaves it to his flunkies and useful idiots and co-conspirators, and they do all they heavy lifting and jam it down our throats.

He’s the epitome of the useless, manipulat-able assclown idiot puppet that the lefties love.

And we’re paying the butchers bill for it.

Dubya had flaws, sure - but I just can’t compare him to this communist douchebag, not by a long shot.

That meme needs to be propagated maximally in the liberal media and where DUmmies congregate to hive-ate.

Obama needed buttsex in the military to keep his base "base" from despairing and drinking Dran-O like Welsh poets.

Actually, liberals have been hard to find the last 15 years.

The people we're dealing with now, who like the "progressive" label, are the same ones who hijacked it in the 1940's. And they're Stalinists.

I call them "neo-Stalinists" in conversation every chance I get, because that's what they are, and now that their positions have migrated so far away from the old "Bull Moose" Progressives of 1912, they can't wash off the accusation of Stalinism when it's lodged in respect of their current agenda.

I'd go with "neo-Stalinist". Chunk that heavy spear!

I also make frequent references to the "modern society" of East Germany. They want that, too.

My biggest concern is that Obama will succeed in selling some kind of “centrist” persona, get reeelected, and then one or more of the 5 scotus justices who are not insane, but are getting older, will get sick.
