Pete King's plan to grill Muslims is flashback to Joe McCarthy's Hollywood witch hunt

Rep. Pete King's proposal to hold hearings on the "radicalization" of American Muslims is something straight out of the Bad Ideas Department.

Make that the Worst Ideas Department.

Just substitute the word "movie" for "Muslim" and you've got McCarthyism. As in Sen. Joe, who called in actors from Lucille Ball to Judy Holliday simply because they had had naughty liberal thoughts.

McCarthy found nothing on Holliday, but ruined her life and scores of others in Hollywood.

What's next, internment camps?

Let’s hope so - because everyone McCarthy named as a Communist turned out to be so.

The left’s depiction of McCarthy has worked so well that even the most rabid haters of communism refuse to defend Joe.

Well if Joe was wrong about anything it was he grossly underestimated the number of communists in the State Department and again thanks to the left, the state department is still a haven for communists waiting for the progressives and their useful idiots to collapse the system so they can step right in without firing a shot.

It is amazing the hollywierd types that still rail against Joe when it was HUAC not the senate but the leftest scum in Hollywood are not that sophisticated as to understand the difference.

Ditto Reagan, for seizing the Screen Actors Guild out of Communist control. As a result of this, Reagan received death threats and had to take to carrying a pistol.

“The left despise Richard Nixon as much because he (with the assistance of Whittaker Chambers) dared to expose their hero, Alger Hiss, for what he was: a Soviet agent.”

Hence the CommunistMedia propaganda event known as Watergate, some 25 years later.

Of all the many things Janet Napolitano has wisely declared to be threats to Homeland Security, Muslims certainly are not one.

Ditto Reagan,..

God bless Ronald Reagan for his strength and courage. He had no use for communists or communism.

Ummm, methinks it was FDR, a communist demonRAT, that had internment camps for the japs in this country and most Americans were in favor of them.

I personally am against internment camps, why should we pay for mooselimbs to live here.

If they commit crimes they should be prosecuted and executed if called for.

If any mosque engages in terrorism, it should be closed and leveled to the ground {removal of the mooselimbs prior to the leveling should be done on a case by case basis}.

McCarthy's weakness was that he liked being in front of the camera more than the long and tedious work of gathering evidence and making the case against the Commies.

The Left lost when they took on the Nixon, Chambers, Valtin, Kravchenko, Koestler, Orwell and countless others who for years had hammered away all credibility the Communist and their fellow travelers had with the American public.

So after the Left had already lost the battle, they adapted McCarthy as the villian for their complete rewrite of history and brainwashing of subsequent generations.

Old Joe would have a field day if he held hearings today. The government is riddled with commies starting at the tippy top. I say turn King loose and see what happens.

You know it’s kind of sad, and also amusing in a way, I grew up on that newspaper (New York’s Daily News)and the more and more I read it lately, with it’s overwhelming “I Love Obama” Theme laiced through out, the less and less I like it.

They do have some conservative editorialists and writers but largely the news stories themselves are so Biased it’s disgusting. there are more than a few “anti-tea Party” and “Anti-Palin” news stories, alot of them filled with distortions and disinformation, that it just turns me off.

If ti wasn’t for the fact the web site is “Free” I really wouldn’t bother reading it (Save for the sports news).

McCarthy never did any such thing, nothing to do with HUAC.

Instead of being focused on McCarthy, we should focus on the Muslims. McCarthy is not at issue here, except in the mind of this reporter.

Rep. Pete King’s proposal is to hold hearings on the “radicalization” of American Muslims. This does not in any way say that they *are* radical, just that there are some who would *want* to radicalize them.

This is an already established fact. And it is well within the federal government’s authority and *responsibility* to intervene to *prevent* a class of people in the US from being radicalized.

For a prime example, former Imam Anwar al Awlaki (born in New Mexico, currently residing in Yemen), is known for radicalizing several US Muslims.

“He is an Islamic lecturer, spiritual leader, and former imam who has inspired Islamic terrorists against the West. According to U.S. officials, he is a senior talent recruiter and motivator, who has also become “operational” as a planner and trainer, “for al-Qaeda and all of its franchises”.

“Al-Awlaki’s sermons were attended by three of the 9/11 hijackers. He reportedly met privately with two of them in San Diego. One moved from there to Falls Church, Virginia, as al-Awlaki moved. Investigators suspect al-Awlaki may have known about the 9/11 attacks in advance. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of “regional commander” within al-Qaeda, according to U.S. officials.”

“His sermons were also attended by accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. U.S. intelligence intercepted at least 18 emails between Hasan and al-Awlaki in the months prior to the Fort Hood shooting, including one in which Hasan wrote: “I can’t wait to join you [in the afterlife].” After the shooting, al-Awlaki praised Hasan’s actions.”

“In addition, “Christmas Day (underwear) bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab said al-Awlaki was one of his al-Qaeda trainers, who met with him and was involved in planning or preparing his attack, and provided religious justification for it, according to U.S. officials.”

Again, this is just *one man*, responsible for several attempted and successful attacks on US soil.

One man, who *right now* has a significant Internet presence, and is in the process of trying to “radicalize” Muslims in America.

So how many such agitators are out there, right now, hoping to do the same? Representative King would like to find out.

This is the furthest thing from even the left’s description of “McCarthyism”. It should be pointed out to them that while McCarthy was chasing *real* communist infiltrators, loyal to a foreign tyranny, even they, the communists, were not *actively* committing terrorist acts against Americans in America.

As are radicalized Muslims. Not all Muslims, but just those limited number who right now are being radicalized.

I heard a part of a recent interview with Cong. King. He was asked about the hearings he intends to conduct.

King said, he has had Muslim parents come to him concerned over radical characters at their mosque trying to influence their kids. When this was reported to the FBI... the Imam(s) at the mosque(s) instructed the congregation(s) NOT TO COOPERATE WITH THE FBI.

There's a lot Americans have the right to know about that the MSM & their Democrat comrades are witholding. King's hearing should be a good start.

As during the 40s & 50s with the Communists, we will not be able to defeat the Islamic Terrorists without taking on the "fellow travelers" who shield & assist them.

In all fairness, not cooperating with the FBI is starting to become fashionable, and not just among Muslims.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8z7NC5sgik

And specifically, among Muslims, just a short time ago, an FBI informant attended a mosque, and was trying so hard to prod them into committing illegal acts, that the mosque first contacted the police, then got a restraining order against him. Just one person like this really “poisons the well.”

http://is.gd/jbfiX

Personally, I would advise about anyone to not cooperate with the FBI, for the sole reason that they are so disconnected with the “police reality”, that their actions are far too often unpredictable and uncoordinated, which could turn against an innocent person in an almost whimsical manner.

From not too far away, I watched “mass” FBI activities that had become surreal. For example, after Timothy McVeigh’s attack, hundreds of agents swarmed the rather sedate city of Kingman, AZ, with orders, I gather, to search every nook and cranny, no matter how many times they had been searched before. For months. Many local citizens would no longer answer knocks on their doors, having been interviewed half a dozen times.

A friend in Phoenix was interviewed for two hours, because a friend of his had taken his picture, that happened to catch the corner, of the backside, of a federal building. The FBI agents quickly figured out he was no threat, but apparently were required to talk with him for about two hours, anyway. They didn’t care what about. His father was an insurance actuary, so he talked about term life insurance. After the clock had run out, they just got up and left without saying anything.

This does not instill confidence.
