Instead of being focused on McCarthy, we should focus on the Muslims. McCarthy is not at issue here, except in the mind of this reporter.

Rep. Pete King’s proposal is to hold hearings on the “radicalization” of American Muslims. This does not in any way say that they *are* radical, just that there are some who would *want* to radicalize them.

This is an already established fact. And it is well within the federal government’s authority and *responsibility* to intervene to *prevent* a class of people in the US from being radicalized.

For a prime example, former Imam Anwar al Awlaki (born in New Mexico, currently residing in Yemen), is known for radicalizing several US Muslims.

“He is an Islamic lecturer, spiritual leader, and former imam who has inspired Islamic terrorists against the West. According to U.S. officials, he is a senior talent recruiter and motivator, who has also become “operational” as a planner and trainer, “for al-Qaeda and all of its franchises”.

“Al-Awlaki’s sermons were attended by three of the 9/11 hijackers. He reportedly met privately with two of them in San Diego. One moved from there to Falls Church, Virginia, as al-Awlaki moved. Investigators suspect al-Awlaki may have known about the 9/11 attacks in advance. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of “regional commander” within al-Qaeda, according to U.S. officials.”

“His sermons were also attended by accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. U.S. intelligence intercepted at least 18 emails between Hasan and al-Awlaki in the months prior to the Fort Hood shooting, including one in which Hasan wrote: “I can’t wait to join you [in the afterlife].” After the shooting, al-Awlaki praised Hasan’s actions.”

“In addition, “Christmas Day (underwear) bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab said al-Awlaki was one of his al-Qaeda trainers, who met with him and was involved in planning or preparing his attack, and provided religious justification for it, according to U.S. officials.”

Again, this is just *one man*, responsible for several attempted and successful attacks on US soil.

One man, who *right now* has a significant Internet presence, and is in the process of trying to “radicalize” Muslims in America.

So how many such agitators are out there, right now, hoping to do the same? Representative King would like to find out.

This is the furthest thing from even the left’s description of “McCarthyism”. It should be pointed out to them that while McCarthy was chasing *real* communist infiltrators, loyal to a foreign tyranny, even they, the communists, were not *actively* committing terrorist acts against Americans in America.

As are radicalized Muslims. Not all Muslims, but just those limited number who right now are being radicalized.

I heard a part of a recent interview with Cong. King. He was asked about the hearings he intends to conduct.

King said, he has had Muslim parents come to him concerned over radical characters at their mosque trying to influence their kids. When this was reported to the FBI... the Imam(s) at the mosque(s) instructed the congregation(s) NOT TO COOPERATE WITH THE FBI.

There's a lot Americans have the right to know about that the MSM & their Democrat comrades are witholding. King's hearing should be a good start.

As during the 40s & 50s with the Communists, we will not be able to defeat the Islamic Terrorists without taking on the "fellow travelers" who shield & assist them.
